Hi,
I am looking to set up a home network so I can play live on my 360. What type of cable should I be running from my pc to my xbox? My xbox is in another room from my pc so it is going to have to be a long cable. I'm obviously going to set it up with sockets in each room and run the cabling behing the walls but was just wondering on the specific type of cable I'll need.

I have heard that a lot of people have had problems with going wireless with the 360. The reason I wanted wired is so I dont lose connectivity.

Well if u r gonna use cables its rather simple also. Just measure out the length and buy some ethernet crossover cables. They are rather cheap.

here's the most economical way to do it. If you go and buy a spindle of category 5 patch cable and some RJ-45 Connectors and a crimper you can make your own custom cables. This is what i did. Then if your friends need networking help, you have the tools. Just charge em a few bucks and you made back your money. It is always a great idea to have the tools onhand. Not to mention if you were to go to radio shack, office max, bestbuy etc they are going to charge more for the cable already put together than if you buy the stuff seperate at Home Depot. ok, thanks for your help everyone. I have now got my xbox connected and running through my pc. My next question is how do you improve your NAT (network address translation)? In the Live test connections page it tells me I have a moderate connection. Can I improve this?
When playing Call of Duty 2 on Live it sometimes goes jumpy or wont let me access the network. Is this due to my moderate NAT?
