I am trying to make a DVD of various music videos using NeroVision Express. In order to have the videos play consecutively without having to select each, I used the "Make a New Movie" option to add all of my videos in one large file. After successfully adding them, I selected "Create Chapters." This is where I encountered problems. Some chapters I was able to create easily by finding the right time position and simply selecting the red "Add Chapter" button. However, there are certain points I try to add chapters where it doesn't work. For example, I dragged the position marker to 1:35:42.47 (O' Sailor) and attempted to add a chapter. The chapter appears in the right column, as shown, but instead of a preview image, there is a white box with a black x through it. I thought maybe the chapter would play anyhow, but it turned out it does not (according to the preview found two screens later). For some reason, if I move the beginning of the chapter back a few seconds so that it actually begins at the end of the previous video, the preview will go on to play. (E.g. The "New Kicks" chapter also did not work at first. But, by having the chapter start at the end of the "Mushaboom" video and not the beginning of the "New Kicks" video, the preview will go on to play "New Kicks." Note: When I say "end of this video" and "beginning of that video," I am basing my judgment off the image shown in the preview pane and the cut-off that I know exists between the multiple videos I imported using "Make a New Movie.") However, this doesn't work for all problematic chapters. When two or more non-working chapters are found consecutively, adjusting the second's starting position is useless because the first also doesn't show up. (I could move the beginning of the "O' Sailor" chapter back, but since "New Kicks" doesn't show up, it is useless. "New Kicks" only shows a preview image because I have moved the beginning of that chapter back into the end of "Mushaboom.") Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?
Any help is appreciated. I tried to be as clear as possible, but please forgive me if my writing is confusing.
I think I've discovered the problem. It looks like Nero has an issue with creating chapters for files with .wmv extensions. Both "New Kicks" and "O' Sailor" are windows media format. So, I suppose the easiest thing to do will be to convert them to another format. Thanks anyhow.
