what exactly is a swap magic is it the same as the HDadvance 3.0 ? or is it toatly different any help would be greatly appreciated

Swap Magic involves using a disc and tool called a 'Slide Tool'. The disc (i think) removes the coding on your backup/import game. For this to work, the PS2 tray has to be manually opened using the Slide tool. Because your machine isnt opened up and fiddled about with, your warranty stays intact. It is so easy to use. I have downloaded backups of games, burned them and they work a treat. Read this:

do you know of a way to play burnt games or harddrive backed up games online

You can't play any games that have DNAS off of the hdd, and to play backups online you need to patch the DNAS onto the backup.
Read paddymail's backup guide for more info(link to that is in my sig)
