Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to get videos off of DVD's, and from downloaded files offline, and get them onto my IPOD, or burn them onto DVD's as well, I guess. (why not kill 2 birds in one post)
What I am having problems with is that for the IPOD as I'm sure many of you know, is you have to have the file in a certain size and file type. But when you pop in a DVD, the only thing it trys to do is autoplay. And even if you open up and view the files, there are over 20 different files; and for the IPOD, not only would you have to convert it, but you would have to get that whole movie with the sound files condensed into one file.

And for movie files online, most of them are mpg?! Another thing I have read is hard to convert, but at least is a single file. What I am upset about really, is that everyone is saying that you need to BUY software to be able to convert, and/or condense these files and put them on the IPOD. There has to be some way you can do what I need to do without spending more money. It's kind of bull that after you buy the $300 IPOD you still have to buy software to make it fully work, if that is the case.
