I have the movie walk the line on my computer it is in mpeg-4 file. It is to large to fit on a cdr. I would like to split it so I can fit it on to discs.the file size is 826 MB. does any one know what program i need to use to get this on a disc.
if you have Nero 6 or later installed on your pc, then u can use Nero recode 2 which comes with Nero digital "addon", in Nero recode 2, choose the second last option "recode dvd's and videos to Nero digital" then import the video file, on the right hand side under the tabs u'll see a tab of fit to target size
if u want to compress the video to a single 700mb cd with almost no quality loss u can choose the 80min cd option, if u want to split it into 2cd-s then scroll down in that fit to target size list and choose custom, here select the split to disks option and u can choose 2 disks 80mins each
some more settings u'll need to do to ensure max quality, on the bottom right of the Nero encoding screen u'll see a tab saying MORE, click on that, click on configure now, choose Nero digital from the tabs of the new window, in the one-pass encoding option, choose "do not ask me always do a second pass...." click on okay, now click on next, here from the left choose Nero digital settings, click on "encoding method" under profile> MPEG-4 encoder, in the encoding method option choose high quality encoding (2-pass), now under quality/speed choose best quality
select burn options from the left, under destination choose hard disk folder, give it a target folder and click on burn, u can even burn directly to a burner or an image burner
Btw the same procedure as above works beautiiiiiifuuuuuullllllyyyy for ripping dvd's, instead of choosing the second last option on the Nero recode screen, choose the last option and follow the exact same procedure
