After trimming the ends of a video I export the finished MPEG2, then I play it back on Media Player Classic, Real Player, or whatever. It looks fine: begins where it should, ends where it should. Then when I add the file to a disc project and burn the disc I find the end sometimes contains more (but never less) video information than I thought was there.

It's as though the cut I made at mm:ss:nn actually took effect at mm:ss:nn+x. It makes the ending look untidy and puts the lie to what I saw while editing and while playing back the finished file.

I don't understand it, but I can't possibly be the only one to notice. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
