I'm using TDK- Media DVD-R (1-8x)LG GSA-4167B Dvd Burner and Burning using Decrypter 4x speed i off all my programes while burning i opened up my ps and found this modchip "Blue PCB, brand : XILINX 17 wire linked out " no idea what is it though.. i burn quite a sum of number of games but only a portion of them working i alway get this error " please insert a ps2 disc in the system " in my ps2 .. could all my problems lies in the mod chip ? thanks

could be a few things
1. the PS2 just doesn't like that media
i have personally had good luck with TDK
2. your burners firmware is out of date so it is having problems getting a good burn on that media.
3. even though 4X would be the prefered speed for an 8X DVD, have you tried slowing the burn speed down to see if you get better results?

also knowing what games didn't work would help as there may be a special proceedure for burning them like God Of war, GT4, and others.
Depending on the modchip some games may also need to be patched.

TDK's are okay media. There are a lot of fake TDK's out there. Try getting some Taiyo Yuden's or Verbatim's from http://www.supermediastore.com
