does any one know if sonic digitalmedia can be used with dvd43

DVD43 is just a driver which unlocks copy protection. If Sonic Digital media rips, then you are in business.

there is nothing that saies rip it only sayies copy dvd when i hit copy it gives an error saies that it is protected

Make sure you see the green smiley face in the bottom tool bar. DVD43 needs to be running for Sonic to think it's not copy protected.
