Hey everyone,
My first post here and I got a quick question for you, I have a slimline ps2 with a dms4-lite chip in it and I use Sony dvd+ to backup my games. Ive backed up about 20 now and decided to start playing a few only to notice that a few glitch out on me and then some work fine. my steps are this
1.dvd decrypter to put iso on pc
2.dvd decrypter to put iso on dvd

I again use sony dvd+ wich have the ID YUDEN000 and are only compatible at 6 and 8x (I burn at 6)

The games I have tried that work perfect (so far) are
Siren and Silent Hill 4 the Room

The games that have not worked are

Metal gear 3 Snakeeater (Works good until codec call, ausio skips and lens sounds like its straining, leave codec call and game resumes to normal)

Silent Hill 3 (Game froze after 1/2 hour playtime)

Resident Evil 4 (Game began skipping during opening scene then froze)

Any idea why these 3 games are skipping and or freezing?

Thanks guys

it is recommended to burn at 1X or 2X if your burner will only burn at 6X then you need to buy different speed discs (i use 16X disc which will only allow me to burn 6X+ i have 4X discs that will allow me to burn at 1X - 4X.

i have never liked backing up games to dvd+ it seems every back up i have done on a dvd+ freezes or skips on my ps2 & other ps2's i have tried them on (even the new slims) if your burner will burn dvd- then try backing up to a dvd- disc at a slower speed.
hopefully this will solve your problem

just another thought, i have had problems with some ps2 & this was caused by dirty lasers. i would assume that as yours is a slim it would be fairly new & the laser will probably be clean. try what i said before & if that fails maybe try cleaning your laser. hope this helps

I just bought 100pk of verbatim from Sams club and ps2 wont read them at all and never had a problem before...i think they may be using cheaper manufacture....I ordered some yuden's i'll let you know how it goes but as far a re 4 my backup works flawless with
2.0 swap magic.

my suggestion is to use -R DVD's
My slim has problems with +R discs as far as games, movies will
play fine on them. But games tend to be a bit glitchy
If you are limited to 6X or 8X burning speed as the lowest speed,
then i have to assume that you bought 16X discs. Just try them at
6X burning speed and see what happens. If they are not 16X discs then you may want to see if there is an update to your burners firmware and if there is update it.
But i would suggest dropping down to an 8X speed DVD and burning
them at 4X on a good DVD-R
Also just so you know if you did not already, Toxic has release
the new BIOS for your chip V1.4 that you may want to get.

Could it just be action replay codes freezing, cause I loaded resident evil 4 today, (same one as before) and its working now, did not freeze, Im gonna try Silent hill 3 without codes right now and see if it works!

Well it seems action replay is my problem, all my dvd+ games work fine without action replay that I had problems with. Thanks to all!
