I have a 160GB Western Digital. My motherboard can only see around 137GB(I'm running win2k). I was told that if I run WD Data Lifeguard, it will partition and format the drive so my computer will see the whole drive. Can anyone tell me if this works, is this a memory hog, or if I'm better off just using the 137GB. This is not my boot/main hard drive.

you just need the large drive enabler file, this is a common problem with hard drives (although ive never had it myself)..

just download and run this file and you should be able to see the whole drive.

it says maxtor but should work on all hard drives anyway.

Don't mess about with applications just yet. Usually this is caused by not running an up to date version of XP. When XP first came out it only allowed up to 128GB drives. If you download and install service pack 2, it will permit you to use the full capacity of the disk.
