System rebooting after a few min of Battle Field 2 Geforce 6600GT

This happened now and then when I had a radeon 8500le so I figured it was the card. I replaced the card with a Geforce 6600GT with the the settings maxed out the system reboots everytime I play after like 15 minutes.
The Windows Error Signature if anyone can make sense of it:
BCCODE: 100008C BCP1:C0000005 BCP2:BFA45B6 BCP3: A8F45974 BCP4: 00000000
I have an Enermax 420watt power supply
2 Gigs of Crosairs ram
2 Hard Drives
1cd
1DVD drive
5 case fans
a floppy
and a neon light
could I not have enough power???? Or could it just be that the power supply needs to be replaced now. It's about 4 years old
Any help would be much appreciated

the problem could be to do with power. its either that or a heating issue with your graphics card.
you can find out if you have enough power by checking out this PSU power calculator

if the calc says youve got enough power then you may want to look into how well cooled your system is

It's a thermaltake case so I have 2 front fans 1 window 2 rear PS has 2 fans Graphics card has the Zalman Fatal1ty upgrade fan on it and theres a card fan in there circulating more air. Also I should note that the system has randomly rebooted before without a heavy load on it. I have Asus probe and the temp won't go above 120 on normal load and if I turn my silent boost fan up it drops to 114-118 on heavy loads.

not to be a smart ass, but I think at 120C the computer wouldn't even start up. It's in ferenhiet not Celcius. Even with the case open the game or system as a whole would reboot. When it restarts it shows me that Error Code and asks if I want to send it to Microsoft.

SypherTek I used the Calculator and it seems that 325 is the min. I should be using and thats what I have. Do you think after 4 years it's not capable of putting out enough power constantly. I paid like $90 for it and it's an Enermax so it makes sense that it'd last a long time and not just die right away. Like I said the system restarted very few times during normal load and after a few hours of play with the 8500LE. Ive been having this issue for a few weeks now and with the settings maxed out on the 6600GT the actual game play will last a few minutes until either the game crashes or windows restarts and I get the error signature.

OK I upgraded the power supply to 520 and my heatsink and fan are now clean. My system isn't going above 114 while playing BF2 and BF crashed the first time I tryed playing after like 5 min. The second time I played for 45 and the whole system rebooted. The only thing I could think of would be maybe the upgraded OCZ ram maybe theres an issue with one of the sticks? Does anyone know of any good ways to test out RAM. Also if reinstalling BF2 would help I'm willing to do that.

Take the side off the case and point your house fan or a/c unit at the mobo and vid card. Does it crash now? If so then its a cooling issue. Either you didnt apply the grease right when you used the modded heat sink for the vga card or the case fan filters are dirty and not circulating. Besides the temp ya posting is way to low. So the sensor on the card is problay messed up. My 6800gt bfg oc edition with the case open and a fan blowing on it would idle 50 c and hit 80 to 90 celcius no matter what I did. So I really think your sensors are screwed. If the fan trick works run it like that while playing games. I had 5 case fans and three fans on the mobo and still had to put a house fan on the thing while playing bfg or need for speed most wanted or mine would crash. Only thing you can do is try water cooling if you like the max settings or turn down the settings to cool it down./

those are heat readings for the CPU. I have an upgraded fan on the card and used thermal silver 5 lots of it at that. I have a PCI card fan pointed up at the VID CARD. I have played the game on less then max settings first time was with the settings I had for the old card the system was messing up then also. The fins are all clean. I will try the open case extra fan method. Matter of fact I was planning on taking out the vid and RAM and transfering to another system yoo see. I'm thinking this could be a WinXP issue and I'm not in the position to reinstall it. If so I hope the next OS is out sooner then later.

sorry i havent replied in a while.
ive just read you last post and im thinking your problem could be something to do with how much thermal paste youve used... if youve used a LOT of that silver stuff that could be actually causing the problem.
you only need a very small amount of thermal compound, the idea of the stuff is to get rid of any imperfections on base of the heatsink so that heat from the components your cooling can be transferred quickly. using too much can have the opposite affect and actually case the haet to not get transferred properly.
take your cooler off the card and scrape away any dried on thermal comp and just scrape down until you have a very thin layer, just enough to cover the GPU and see how you get on from here. also if youve used large amounts of compound on any other components you may want to do the same with them
also... the next windows OS sucks i dont know why but it seems that rather than doing the smart thing and just making an improved XP theyve built an OS you need a super computer just to run... which i think is a pretty stupid thing to do.. it makes sense to have the os using as little of your systems resources as possible and Windows Vista does quite the opposite... so im hoping its going to be a while before they bring out the next windows OS

The Artic Silver is on my CPU also but that's running fine. I believe I may have used more on the GPU so what you say about having too much could very well be true. I played BF2 on a different system with my RAM and it played fine so I know it's not that. I plan on reinstalling BF2 and will scrape off the excess compound.

I cleaned off any extra thermal compound off the GPU BF played for about an hour and a half before reboot. I left the system on overnight as I slept and from about 3am to 3pm it must have had the issue so it rebooted and again with the error signature code. I'm convinced this is a windows issue but I haven't had the time to reinstall BF2 on my second Drive now that I think it I believe theres a clean install of XP on there with service pack 2.

I have a bfg 6200oc and it seems to run battlefield 2 fine. I have played the multiplayer for 3 hours straight with out a hiccup. sounds to me like there is s conflict of hardware somewhere in your system. Mine seems to shut off when it gets zapped from static. maybe that could also be a problem.

it is as a feared a windows issues. I need to reinstall WINXP pro but getting up to servicepack 2 is kinda difficult now if you know what I mean. The 6600GT is in my brothers lil rinky dink compaq with my old Power Suppy and it's running lovely. Now seems like the easiest way to deal with this is to get a NEW HD(I'm not about to loose DATA) and WINXP (although not PRO :-( way too much$$$).
Thanks for your help everyone. Now time to save up for a 250GB RAPTOR SATA drive!!!

Its easy enough dude. Google for the magical jelly bean key finder. It will tell ya key number for xp. Print it up and then find any copy of xp pro 2 and install it. Ya good. Unless ya stole the key then good old bill probaly blocked the key with the start of service pack 2. If that is the case then use service pack 1. You can go on microsucks site to see if tthe key is good or blocked.

Well I thought that with the new authentication you couldn't get the needed updates to get up to SP2. Also I used to use Limewire for all my downloads but it seems now that any and most every program on there is loaded with viruses. *sigh* time to get into the whole Bit torrent deal, though a lot more dangerous as far as getting caught, the idea of having to register to DL shit just doesn't sit well with me.
