i recently downloaded this epsidode of a series that i watch that ends with an rmvb insted of avi. before i couldnt get it to play on windows media player but now i can. the only problem is is that the computer still reads it as a real player file even though i open with windows media player. my question is does anyone know how to convert a real player file type to a windows media player file type?

well you can either leave the files as they are and download a program that is capable of playing the files like either Real Player or my prefered choice "real alternative" (download link - http://www.codecguide.com/download_real.htm )

Or you can use a program like imtoo mepeg encoder to re-encode the video files into your prefered playback format (link to imtoo - http://www.imtoo.com/mpeg-encoder.html ) youll need a serial for encoding files longer than 5 minuites
