Converting Smackdown vs Raw PAL to NTSC PS2

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew if Smackdown vs Raw 2006 PAL could be patched with either method.

I downloaded it and I applied the Y-Fix patch and burnt it on a velocity
dvd with alcohol on the slowest speed i think (2.3 or something).

I tried it on my ps2 and I got the ps2 logo and sound to pop up and then just a black screen. I have a my ps2 moddded too, but I think it is an older chip.

Did anyone else have any sucess with this game?

Had perfect success burning it onto a Verbatim 8x DVD at 4x after using the exact same method, try burning onto better media at half the maximum speed.

Had perfect success burning it onto a Verbatim 8x DVD at 4x after using the exact same method, try burning onto better media at half the maximum speed.

Hmmm Do you think its worth a try to use the different method for patching and burn it at the lowest speed? or is it always half the maximum speed for the disc.

I never really had any trouble burning any games on velocity media before.

I've never heard of Velocity media before. That probably means it's shite. If Mik3h hasn't heard of it either, that further supports my statement. Get some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's from http://www.supermediastore.com and it'll work fine. Burning at half the max speed of the DVD is the rule of thumb. Now if you use 16x media, you'd want to burn around 4x. Go with quality 4x or 8x Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media.

hmm i just tried patching and burning with adr and it worked fine on the same media I used before, but it doesn't fit in the screen completely when I play.

I wonder why adr worked and the other y-fix one didn't.

Velocity media is still crap. The patcher's aren't compatible with every game. Adr works with some, PAL2NTSC with Y fix works with others. It won't be perfect regardless after patching. The only way to center the game perfectly is with a modchip that has a Y fix built in.
