When backing up a store bought Dvd does the read speed matter or should it be set for as fast possible? My backups sometime have 4-5 spots where they freeze up or get jerky. I use T. Y. 8x disk and have burned with a write speed of 2-8. Some come out okay and others have problems. Using anydvd with shrink and dvd decrypter.

Any ideas?

Taiyo Yuden disks are top notch! and you still get skips and freezes? maybe your drive needs a firmware update! and yes read rates do matter. I have mine set to 4x or so!

I would also like slow down my read rate, I'm in no hurry,I've tried to figure that out. Just how do you go about doing that? I'm using Shrink and Nero ... also useing a Liteon burner

check settings in the programs...... some programs don't have that option though.
