#1
^*pictures*^

(yes as you know you can put pictures on your psp. i dont realy see the reason why to but anyway you can.)
#1)Go to google images, find an image that you want and save it to my pictures(thats the easiest).

#2)Now hook up your psp to the usb port. now go to "my computer",and when you do that go down to "devices with removable storage" now go to "removable disk (g:),or(f:)" .

#3)wherever your usb port is located. now when you go on it click on the "psp".

After that you should have some folders. you are going to have to make a new folder. call it "pictures"

then drag and drop the pictures you want to put on the psp in the folder you just made.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#2
^*music*^

(music is a bugger cause if its not in the right format then it won't play.)
so you want to put music on your psp, pay close attention. when you go to put your music on the psp look at what format it is in. it should be in mp3 format. It works around the WMA format enableing on the internet on the psp. If you have to convert the music that you can download "dbpower amp music converter" at http://www.download.com , or you can get SONICSTAGE BY CONNECT. Then if you get sonicstage, you can download music strait to the psp. That is if you rip music off your friends CD's. Good luck on that one.http://www.connect.com/download_cookie.html
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#3
^*movies*^

(if you get this far than you are at where i am.)
This is a little complicated so then, go to psp.http://psp.connect.com/tutorial.html watch the whole thing.

Do exactly as it says on the tutorial.

#1 Where can i get video's?-google video, there you have an option of the way you want to download. Then you can download it to a mp4 format for "sony psp", "Video iPOD", or "Windows/mac".

#2 How do you put dvd's to the psp?-get the dvd decrypter at http://www.download.com. After you decrypt the dvd you should get the psp video9. then convert the video to an mp4.you should read the dvd to psp FAQ guide.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#4
^*upgrading*^

(this realy sucks a bigone.)
You might need to upgrade your version to play a game or something. well if you do remember these things you will be fine.

#1 What can i upgrade to?-upgrade to 2.0 not any further(you can't downgrade past a 2.0)

#2 Can you downgrade from a 2.0?-yes you can downgrade from a 2.0 to a 1.5 if you wish. It will not hurt the psp.

#3 Is there a downgrade for a 2.5?-NOOOO!!! There is absolutly no downgrade so far for a 2.0+!!!do not ask.
Go to http://www.psp-hacks.com or http://www.us.playstation.com to upgrade or downgrade.
^(listen to me do not upgrade to 2.01,2.5,or2.6 .I got a 2.5 and wish I didn't.now I can't put iso's on my psp.)^

OR YOU COULD GET PSP MAX MEDIA MANAGER.Its not free but it isn't much either. Like about $15

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#5
^*internet*^

(this is for the internet, and to play games online)
If you want to go to the internet on you psp you should get a wireless router then follow these instuctions http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/264850 this thread pretty much tells you what you need.

Now if you want to play games online you need a wireless router still. Go to the online part of the game on the main menu, and it should say infrastructure mode. then it follow the same steps that you did on the internet portion.

If you want to play another person that is with you and has the same game, then you could go to ad hoc mode on the multiplayer mode if the game has it. both the people should do this and the psp's should find each other.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#6
^*locationfree player*^

This is so awesome
now if you are in the big money you can buy one of these things. I can't get one till this winter but anyway.

the locationfree player is like a wireless router, except for that you can watch tv. Now if i had one of these i would tell you how to use it. All i have heard is that you can hook it up to the t.v. and the computer, and then you can watch tv on the computer or the psp.

http://products.sel.sony.com/locationfreetv/owners/psp.html

that is some of the information i found but it is also the cheapest one i could find.;)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#7
^*charging*^

this is the simplest thing to do.
When you first get the psp out of the box you have to charge it,dugh. but if the psp isn't charged in the first 2-3 hrs then you should leave it over the night. It will not hurt the psp battery.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#8
^*my kind of warranty*^

i was told to do this with a memory chip and i did the same concept withe a psp.
If you didn't know, your psp has a thirty day limited warranty. If your psp has a problem we can not fix then you can send it to sony, you can take it back to the store if you kept the recept, or you can do what i would do.
1st-buy a new psp.
2nd-then put the old psp in the new box.
3rd-return the old psp and bam new psp.
Now with that last one returning the old psp, that might have just had been luck for me. Just go in fast and get out of there just as quick. Just say that it wasn't what you wanted.;) I never got caught but i kindof think what i did was wrong :p lol. sure i was. but really.

This is a little bit more that i remembered. again im sorry about the spelling. but here you go the more i find out i will put on this page. If there is any questions just ask.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#9
^*sharing pictures*^

this isn't really important
If you have someone with a psp and you want to share a picture with them then this is the easiest way to explain it. when you get to the picture click the triangle button. then go to the far top left where it says send, click on it. while you where doing this the other person should go to the picture menu,(where you see all the pictures but they're smaller),click the triangle button on one of them. then go toward the top and click recieve. when you do this there should be the psp you are sending the picture to. click on the person and send him the picture. when you get the picture you should click back. then it asks to save the picture, do ;)you should set the channel to automatic
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#10
*for those who have max media manager, this is sort of a guide for you*

now this is only $15, so save up lol

When you install the software go to your options button in the middle. It says check for updates now, and drive letter then it would say where your psp is located. check your updates if you didn't when you first instald it. now when you see the main screen it says video, music, images, and saves.

If you want to put videos on the psp you do this.

-you can go to google.video, then you save it on the desktop {this is for so you know where it is ;)}. Then when you get on the max media manager(MMM) go to video and click add new media to library then go to desktop and get the video. then if you got it from google.video it should be in the format that you need for psp.(there is no need to rename it) if you didn't then click on it and go down to the word convert. Then you can put it on the psp.

if you want to put music on the psp this is not simple.

-go to...someone that knows. i have no idea, i use sonicstage by connect. I haven't used the MMM yet, i find no need for it.

if you want to put images on the psp it is simple.

-go to add new media to library, and go get a picture. then go and copy it over to the psp.

if you want to put on a save on the psp, alright.

-Ok i know what the saves are. they are for all the people that cheat. at first i thought they where isos, and thought i hit the jakpot. then i was wrong as usual. so here is what you do, go through the 42 games and find your game. they have to be in the same region, usa-usa and europe-europe. then go ahead and copy, it will overwrite the game that you have saved.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#11
^*dvd decrypter*^

now if you don't do this right then you will come up with a million chapters
1st-you need to get the dvd decrypter at http://www.dvddecrypter.com.
2nd-put the dvd that you want to rip on to the computer.
3rd-go to mode on the top and select ifo mode.
4th-go to tools,go to IFO, and unselect the file splitting.
5th-now go stream processing, then click on enable stream processing.
6th-after this start your decypting. when it is done the dvd you ripped should be in the local disk (c:). it should be in the name of the dvd.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#12
^*psp video9*^

this program is to encode your new video you decrypted so that you can put it on the psp.
1st-you should get the program at http://www.pspvideo9.com.
2nd-when you get the program go to the one code transcoding
3rd-then find the video that you want to convert, and let it convert.
4th-go to copy, and it should say copy to psp. if it doesn't and it says "to plug in psp" or that it "couldn't find the psp", you need to go and put it to the directory of your psp. then it should say psp found!.

^9 Cool Things To Do With Your Sony PSP^

this is for the people that use mac

Syncing Videos, Photos, Music
By far the best Mac application for this is PSPWare ($15). Not only does it sync your music, movies and photos, but it backs up your game saves too. It handles video particularly well as PSPWare supports every common movie format (MOV, MPG, AVI, WMV, VOB) so you can easily prepare your DVD library for watching on your PSP?s 16:9 wide aspect ratio screen. Highly recommended above other competing syncing and video encoding tools, including iPSP ($20).

Reading Text files
PSPBook is an open source software program for Mac OS X that allows you to convert text documents into JPEG images so that it is readable on the Sony PSP handheld gaming system. So far I?ve used this to convert a GameFAQ walkthrough for Metal Gear Ac!d so I can check it anytime I get stuck in a level.

Reading Comics
eigoManga.com features 60 pages of full-color original manga available for Sony PSP. Check out the stories featured in PSP PAK Issue 1! Seven Seas Entertainment has released free downloadable manga specifically converted for viewing on the PSP. Thing is, Seven Seas only released the first chapters for their four flagships titles: Amazing Agent Luna, Blade for Barter, Last Hope and No Man?s Land. Each preview consists of 30 to 40 pages of the story. PSPcmx.com is another great source for PSP-optimized comic books and manga by premier independent publishers. Finally, 8BitJoystick has a wonderful visual tutorial which explains ?How to Read Web Comics on a PlayStation Portable? via a Mac or PC.

Reading Magazines
How about a downloadable PSP magazine that you can read from your PSP?s screen? Check out PSPOMAG for a high quality widescreen publication on PSP gaming. Here is the direct download page for the first two issues. Another gaming magazine to check out is Gamers Heaven magazine which features original gaming articles across gaming consoles. For a more general selection of magazines, see pspmagazines.com where the author shares all kinds of PSP-formatted magazines for download, including sexy content from MAXIM, FHM, Stuff, IGN.com, Gamespot.com, Sports Illustrated plus some PSP formatted movie trailers.

Replacing your TV
Forget your TV! Besides the Sony Connect site, you can now get PSP formatted videos from the following places:
- AtomFilms has a section with downloadable PSP movies, but some require a memory stick larger than the standard 32meg one. Lengths range from 7 to 16 minutes. Three of the titles currently available are, In God We Trust, Football, and Rockfish.
- Heavy made a decent library of hours of entertaining animation and live-action video shorts available for free download on the PSP.
- Music network Fuse offers PSP owners downloadable content such as the countdown show ?Daily Download? and music showcase ?Steven?s Untitled Rock Show.?
- 29PSP Video Guide offers a daily download of video media, including music videos and movie trailers.
- GameSpot?s PSP Resource Center features gaming video reviews formatted for your PSP.

Ghetto Music Boombox
Turn it into an MP3 boombox and let everyone know you own the hottest toy in the neighborhood. Just add this PSP Stereo Amplifier. It might not be the loudest speakers around, but it?s portable and looks pretty mean.

Playing Multiplayer Games via the Internet
Can?t meet up with friends to play multiplayer PSP games with? How about playing games with other PSP owners via the Internet. XLink Kai is a global gaming network that brings together XBox, Playstation 2, Gamecube and PSP users, in one integrated community. It is software running on your PC, Macintosh or even your Linux router that allows you to play system-link enabled games online for free. Here?s a quick Mac to PSP Guide to setting it up. I finally had fun playing with real human players in Wipeout Pure!

Surf the Internet
The PSP comes with built-in 802.11b wifi capability that lets you to play games with other PSP users nearby. It also connects to the Internet though you can?t do much since there?s no built-in e-mail program or Web browser. However, the game ?Wipeout Pure? contains a basic Web browser. It?s only there to access a single page containing game updates. Here?s a trick to surf the Internet (more or less? you need to be close to a Wi-Fi hotspot for this to work:

1. On the PSP, go to Network Settings.
2. Select Infrastructure mode. Create a new connection and give it a name.
3. Enter the name, or SSID, of the Wi-Fi hotspot and the password if necessary.
4. Select the Custom address setting. You can usually leave IP Address Setting to Automatic.
5. For DNS Setting, select Manual. Enter the Primary DNS 67.171.70.72. This points to a computer set up by Jonathan Terleski, a student at Carnegie Mellon. It replaces the Sony page with a page that has links to Google, Yahoo and other useful sites.
6. Set it not to use a proxy.
7. Save the network settings. Make sure the Wi-Fi switch on the left side of the PSP is on.
8. Fire up ?Wipeout Pure.? Go to the Downloads section and select the connection you just created. That should take you online, unless traffic is overwhelming the portal page. If it doesn?t work immediately, try a few hours later. Not all pages will work in the browser, but hey: you have a PSP and you?re online.

Scanning for WiFi networks
Your Sony PSP can scan for wireless networks and provide you with a decent wireless report. From the PSP Home button, you can go into Network Settings, then select Infrastructure, make a New Connection, then go through the settings until you get to WLAN Settings. This is where you simply select Encryption None or WEP, depending on which kind of wireless you?d like to find, then hit Scan. You?ll get SSID, Encryption type, and Signal Strength. Pretty nifty stuff using your PSP as a portable WiFi scanner if you?re deciding if it?s worth taking your laptop out.

Explosive PSP Grenade
Okay here?s a stupid trick!
The PSP battery lasts about 4-5hrs, but under constant gameplay, you?d get about 2.5hrs or so. The Pelican Power Brick let you extend your playtime at half the cost of buying a second PSP battery.

all view and expresions are not supported by codeman74. if you get angry i am sorry. but do not bother if you need me to take of something from this pleas just PM me

^ HELL YEAH TO THE TO THE DIGITAL MOVIES^

now you might know this but this is somthing i found out at 11:30, thirty minuetes ago.

well this has go to be the best use for the psp, besides music,games,internet,onlinegaming...but anyway, puting home movies on your psp. This might be something that i need to do for school.
and this is a lot easier for someone that has MAX MEDIA MANAGER (MMM).

1st)get the video that you want to get off the camcorder, on to the computer and save it.

2nd)go to MMM and click on videos.

3rd)go to where you saved your home video and click on it.(now it should be in an .mpg format, this will not do if you want to save space)

4th)click on the video and go down to where it says convert, and convert it.

5th)you should be able to put it onto the computer then.

This is the only thing that i can think of that will help me with my school...besides studying. but i will not do that ;)

or you can do this if you want to sell somthing and you want to show them the product that you have. Like a bike, car, or even your house.

Or you can even put funny things that you have of your family on there. I have a million.

So heres somehting else that i have found, you could use it for school, personal business, or for your own family memories.

Well im going now

p.s.Max Media Manager only costs $15 in US curancy

^*controls for the psp*^

after you get the router and everything hooked up

^TO MAKE A HOME PAGE^

1st-when you get to the net, and it says it's connected and everything is o.k. there should be a grey border that goes at the top and the bottom. Now go to tools (the icon at the bottom that looks like a briefcase).

2nd-go to "settings", and click "Home Page Settings".

3rd-where it says "address", put the address that you want as your home page.

Or you could go through the net and find a place thats cool and you want to show up everytime that you get on the net. Then you can click "Use Current Page"

My home page is Google and thats because i am always on google searching for something.

^HERE ARE MY SETTINGS^

These settings are exactly the same thing when i went to the internet the first time.

-settings-

Image display-on
Animation Display-on
JavaScript-Enable

-Proxy Server Settings-

Well i never used it, if anybody that has used it wants to tell us what it does thats cool.

-Cookie Settings-

Allow All

-Cache Settings-

512KB

^HISTORY^

This is just like your computer, it shows everywhere that you have gone in the past.

Now go to options.
There is "open" that takes you to the web page that you want to go to.
"delete", lets you delete the stuff that you hav been to in the past ;).
"information" just tells you the information that web page.
Then at the top, there is "Delete All";)

^BOOKMARKS^

There is only one bookmark at the time you open it,PSP.

If you want to add a bookmark click on "My Bookmarks". There should be a box that says [add to bookmarks]. before you click on it go to the website that you want to add.
pretty much this is a favorites tab

^HOME^

This will take you to your home page.

^BACK^ and ^FORWARD^

"back" will take you to the page that you where at before and same for for "forward".

^REFRESH^

"Refresh" will refresh the the web page that you where on, just in case the web page doesn't load right or somthing.

^FILE^

-Address Entry-

this is where you can put the address that you want to go. But clicking at the top of the menu and enter the address.

-Open Link in Different Tab-

This does exactly as it says, it opens the new page on a different Tab.

-Save Link Target-

Don't quiet know.

-Save Image-

This saves the pictures onto your psp. for real it puts the picture on the psp.

-Page Information-

Tells the information of the page,

"Title" & "Address"

-Display Certificate-

Im not sure but if i could guess it would be to see the Security Certificate that shows if the site is Secure.

-Close Page-

Closes the page that you are on.

-Close Internet Browser-

Closes the internet.

^HARDWARE CONTROLS^

Left Triger-Back

Right Triger-Forward

X-selects what you have your arrow or finger is.

Circle-This takes you of the internet.

Square-Dont know i have three bars that go on the top of the psp Red, blue, and Yellow.

Triangle-brings up the menu.

Anolog Stick-lets you move the arrows freely.

Directional Pad- lets you go to each link, plus it move the web page over that couldn't be seen.

if you have any trouble tell me what the site is and tell me what happened. i really don't want to brick my psp :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#16
^*backgrounds*^

i just realized i didn't say anything about puting pictures as backgrounds.

this is very simple, unless you have a 1.5.

1st-get the picture you want as your background on your psp.

2nd-now when you see the picture click the triangle. a list of settings should come up (unless you have a 1.5, then you have to upgrade to a 2.0. which i know works).

3rd-go to "view mode" and select it to go to full screen.

4th-after this go over to "set as background"

wala a custom wallpaper, you could put digital photos of your house, your car, your girl. anything you want it just makes it a little bit more custom and uniqe if you ask me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#17
^*Now here is there waranty*^

this is about the time when you send in your psp for a newone
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-772281088722654804&q=psp

This is the kind of thing that you can turn your psp in for. If its a hardware problem now if it is a software problem then it isn't there problem. You can not get a free psp back, or a fixed one, from the sony corporation if you opened the psp, unpluged the psp while updating or anything that it says not to do in the manule.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#18
^*Universal remote*^

the universal remote is for a number of electronics. it only works for infrared laser type of electronics.

It, i sopose, will not work in firmware 2.0+

here is a tread for if you want an more indepth
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/302924

i don't know much about it though. tried with my friends and i gave up. not that its hard or anything but he left my house so no use then. I have a 2.6(and im still wondering how).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#19
^*game saves*^

for those that are lazy...me.

PSP saves are games that people have played and put on the net for people to download. now if you are like me you can't play the game all the way so many times. i have played my game 20 times, and when i go to earase the game i have to start all over. but then this time i wanted to play online and i didn't have the best stuff on the game. well here is what you do...

go to http://www.psp-hacks.com

go to psp saves.

download the save

then plug in the psp to the usb port, and go to where the psp is located.

now go to where your game is saved on the computer(could be in a number of places.)

then when you see the game that you have saved, stay there.

go to the ziped file that you downloaded and open it.

now compare the names of the games, if they are not the same they won't work.(EX ULUS10036001 to ULUS10036001.)

hope this helps in the long run, for the people that like to cheat on games...me!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#20
^*mateanance*^

sorry for the spelling.

well you got your psp huh, let me play it out for you. you opened the box, and you were so excited. you are taking it all over the place...but then you get some dust or grime on it.

well don't use a washcloth or anything like that. nothing rough enough to scratch the psp's screen. well here is what you do, go get the little rag that came with the psp and wipe it down. then if you want to make it shiny, be carful.

get some bleach, not much, put it on the rag. then rub the psp down softly and
Quote:
walalaha shiny and new looking and it will stay that way for a 7-9 days trust me i gat this tip from my friend and i tried it the next day it wouldn't get dirty for anything.
be sure to wipe the bleach off.

now for the grime between the cracks of the bottons.

get a toothepick and gently get the grime out, get all over. defenitly get around the left and right side of the psp, where you put your hands. if you play the psp a lot, you get a lot of dead skin out of the psp.

$$$I hope this helps. i know that there is a lot of threads like this but when you get the most simplest of people (me) to try to figure out what you are talking about, it makes me feel stupid. If you find that this thread doesn't help, go to Ravenlifes stickie(ultimate FAQ thread). My spelling isn't the greatest sorry. ;-)

it woould depend on what you are playing - as i am hearing that alot of the newer games arnt working but here is
what should work

* Start up an ad hoc multiplayer game and set the time for unlimited. On the first PSP
* Eject the UMD disc and choose NO when it asks if you would like to quit. On the first PSP
* Put the UMD in another PSP and start multiplayer gaming with your friends!
* Reapeat previous previous 2 steps for as many players as you want in the game.

Setup

9 Cool Things To Do With Your Sony PSP

this is for the people that use mac

The Pelican Power Brick let you extend your playtime at half the cost of buying a second PSP battery.

all view and expresions are not supported by codeman74. if you get angry i am sorry. but do not bother if you need me to take of something from this pleas just PM me

see ya guys later -->codeman74<--

You get 4 folders?
ISO
ISOMISC
ISOSPLIT
PSP-GAME-FASTLOADER &FASTLOADER%

Copy ISO, ISOMISC, ISOSPLIT to your memory stick
eg if it is drive I: then the folder would be I:ISO

Explore the PSP folder and in that will be GAME folder in that will be two folders FASTLOADER & FASTLOADER%
Copy these folders into your psp mem stick in the folders corresponding eg. if I: then I:\PSP\GAME\FASTLOADER & I:\PSP\GAME\FASTLOADER%
once youve dont that you can place the iso in the ISO folder, some isos come compressed so you may need to extract them, if when extracted you get PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA you have extracted the iso too far leave it at the step b4 you get PSP_GAME folder.

Good luck
