Just got a dell e510. My old frankenbox finally crapped out on me. had a Memorex 16x DL in it for a few years and had no problems with it. Installed it into the Dell and it recognizes everything fine. Installed DVD Decrypter and everything seems fine, rips, etc. Shrunk w/dvd Shrink as always, but then when i tried to burn it gets stuck at what it says is 3 percent and gives me the error that
I 22:52:55 Writing Image...

tried to change a few things, no go.

installed nero same deal. it burns approx 1/3 of the disc and errors out during what the program calls the lead-in.

any clues? I'm going crazy.

Check the firmware for your burner. You may need a flash update.

What kind if media are you using? Don't use this media==> Memorex/CMC/Imation/TDK. For best results only use Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim DataLifePlus, Taiyo Yuden & Ritek G05.

Also, is DMA turned on your burner?

Check this link for instructions, http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking%20DMA.pdf

boognish5,

Correct me of I am wrong, but are you not saying the Memorex 16x DL is your burner that you transfered from your old computer, and now you having problems with it in your new computer?

If so, check your media.

Regards,

Rich
