Iv'e been reading through quite a few of the problems and answers and still can't seem to get above 5kbs I use limewire pro and connect to the internet with an external modem 2gig broadband (Tiscali)People say to config the router but what do you do if you don't have one (or have i got one i don't know about)Iv'e tried asking members direct but still no reply so i think a New post is the answer as Iv'e come across a few members with the same problem.Also people say config the application prperly! Well whats the proper way to config Limewire Pro. Surely you members who are boasting download speeds of 80 to 240kbs must be able to aleast get me upto 20_30kbs.

thats why i stop using this kind of p2p prog (kazaa.. limewire ect)

i'm on bit torrent since this day i always got better speed and fowarding is really easyer

cause you only give what you dl and you act as a sever for the file you download or seed you don't lose speed cause you give info of what you share to every 1 (always sendind package just for that..)

with a router you really need to foward when using p2p software
and finding sumthing is really easyer and chance of working and not get crap is so great.. in fact i think i never got crap been using bit torrent for more than 2 years

so get a client the 1 you choose "personaly i use azureus" easy to set up your foward cause it only need 1 port in udp and its the 1 you choose just get a high 1 to be sure that nothing else take this port and you'll see i'm sure your speed will be a lot better (if the tracker you choose got a good ratio of seed leecher) but like i said choose 1 that you'll like some people doesn't like Azureus cause it have so many feature that you don't really need but can be usefull but takes more ressource....

if you need any help with bit torrent just come back here lots of thread about it ;)

Ok your downloads are taking the piss, what firewall have you got and have you tryed disabling it and seeign how the d/l goes?

2gig broadband lol i wish, i think you mean 2 mb.

I came to the solution that this is a problem with my service provider and rang them and they also agreed that my download speed is well below average and they are looking into it.
PS Yes it is a 2meg line not a 2gig LOL
