Hello all! streaming music to my 360 which in turn is connected to my 5.1 via fibre optic,am streaming mp3 which has 2channels so am not gettin the best out of my 5.1 when streaming.. so is there software that can encode 5.1 to mp3 or can it be done at all?

mp3s are stereo/mono only, there is currently no surround sound codecs for mp3 that I know of

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
