Hi guys, I want to go from 512 to 1GB of memory. I have heard that Sony computers can be picky on what kind of memory they work with. My computer is a Sony Vaio Model: PCV-RX671. Its a P4 2.0. Obviously i need 2100 memory it appears, but is there something else to look for or check prior to purchasing it? Below is my motherboard specifications. Is there a way to tell if this will work with faster memory? If it does, would it be worth installing all new memory that is faster, or would I even be able to tell? Thanks!

MOTHERBOARD MODEL: Asus P4B266-LM
CPU SUPPORT: Socket 478 for FC-PGA2 Pentium 4 (Willamette/Northwood) 1.4GHz to 2.4GHz+
FSB: Adjustable FSB up to 800 MHz.
Onboard ATA-100
Memory: 2 PC2100 slots
3xPCI, 1xAGP (AGP 4x)
Onboard AC '97 audio
2xUSB, 1xIEEE1394, hookup for addition USB on front of case
Realtek RTL8100 100/10Mbps Ethernet LAN Controller

Although I have not seen this before, it looks like that board only supports 266mhz memory, which is 2100. Faster memory should work, but may be downscaled to the appropriate speed. I'd avoid getting two sticks of different speeds, so either get another 2100 (512) or bin the old stick and get a new 1GB module of 3200.
