Getting Swap Magic to work should have nothing to do with the types of cables you use, regardless if it's component, S-video or composite.

Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon64 3700+ (oc'ed to 2.5Ghz)
2gb OCZ premier RAM
ASUS A8R-MVP motherboard
two ATi X1600 Pro 512mb each running in Crossfire
Thermaltake Silent Purepower 500W PSU
LG DVD +/-RW drive 4120
ACER 19" LCD 1916B
On-Board 5.1 w/ Logitech X530 speaker system

I honestly don't see how cables connecting your PS2 to your TV has anything to do with getting games to work.

I know DVI and HDMI cables carry a copy protection in them but I don't think component cables are like that.

I'm not using SM discs, I have a modchip, however I am using Component cables as well, and I can hook it up to all my TV in the house, regardless if they are HD compatible or not. I was even able to hook it up to my HDTV Home Theatre Projector no problems at all.

Do you at least see the boot screen/browser screen when you have it hooked up through component cables?

My swap magic discs work fine on normal tv never had a problem with them. Its only when i use component wires. It6 boots up but jus as the main screen appears with options it goes black and says unsupported. Ive changed the screen size in ps2 browser to 4:3 to 16:9 doesnt help. The only thin i can think is the picture trys to convert it to component quality (have no idea what im sayin jus guessing) and the swap magic discs dun support it?
