I have been trying out the Nero7 trial and wondered if anyone else was having problems with the capture settings in Nero Vision.

If I choose DVD, I do not get the opportunity to change either the Bitrate or the Quality setting. This means I end up capturing an MPEG-2 at >7Mbps which results in a huge file. It won't allow me to fit around 2 hrs on a DVD5 as I would expect to do. 7Mbps is way overkill for the broadcasts I'm trying to capture...they were probably around 4Mbps originally. I did try the Custom setting as well...but again no ability to change the settings, though the bitrate did come down to around 5.6Mbps, I still got a 5.5Gb file for 130 mins of capture. It will quite happily allow me to change the audio capture settings to Stereo rather than DD 5.1 @ 448kbps (again way over the top for a default).

Is this just a limitation of the trial? I was under the impression that the trials were just time limited, and not neutered in any way.

I need to know I can change these settings or Nero won't be getting my money for the full version.
