I am at my wit's end here!!! I have a vers 12 slimline and I did the tape and tissue mod. I taped down the sensor that is only accessible after you tear it open. and I disabled the break in the top right and I stuffed some tissue in the lower right sensor. I can leave the lid completely open and load up Swap Magic 3.6+, however when I go to swap with a back up I hit X and the disc spins real slow and the message "invalid ps2 disc" pops up.

Just a sidenote, all my burned games play on my fat ps2 via the Swap Magic 2.0 disc.

Can anyone please help, I don't want my slimline to go to waste.

What kind of media are you using? What's the Media ID?

A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. SONY-D11-00 is the media ID. The disc spins slow even when I put a real ps2 game in. Its like the slim recognizes theres a mod to bypass sensors.

yes it does, I have the case open and I did manage to get it to play a back up but only when I refreshed the toc. I am messing with it now as we speak.

update: I find if I hit the front sensor 2 x I get the REFRESH TOC prompt and then I insert a back up after the refresh and I can play.
Knowing I have to hit that sensor twice how would you go about modifications? Thank you so much in advance!

to tell you the truth i would just get the proper mods you need like a slimtool, ghost switch or magic switch.

I am not sure how many people here would know how to fix a tape & tissue mod.

Either that or take everything out and try the mod again, may be that one of the pieces is just a little off or something.
