well i never played any ff after ff3 on supernes (yeah i played the original ff ONE on nes heh and ff2 and ff3 on super NES) and this one is amazing. Don't get me wrong, graphics are like ps2 graphics which is VERY disappointing but i am wondering if this is just a beta test for the SERVERS and maybe the game will have better graphics. I have a hd 42' plasma tv and my other games look AWESOME in hd, so when I play this of course it looks even worse.
But the game itself is great & funny even with the disappointing graphics. Remember, i never played any ff after ff3. The only con i see is that it is very time consuming. I cannot play 8 hours a day like some people in there lol
btw my name is Plivaud and im an elf warrior lvl 6 my live tag acmilanpunk

I completed every FF since 7 on PS. With FFXII I was so disappointed. Graphics aren't great (no, they wont get better after Beta Test). Gameplay is a nightmare (unless you are a jobless bum that can afford 10 hours a day playing a game).
To me, it's just not living up to the name. I rushed down to buy the mag, to get the Beta version, I was so looking forward to it. I got the game on (after an hour, and several cups of coffee). After I loaded it up, I spent the next hour trying to work out what connections where loose and making the graphics so poor!

yeah the graphics are like ps2 graphics and i spent like 2 or maybe 3 hours to set the game up
and yeah, it seems like people over there play 10 hours a day because otherwise i cannot explain how come they have done so much, well ,maybe the owned previous versions (ps2, pc)
but anyway i liked it, maybe because i mainly played cs source before and the idea of mmorpg or whatever it's called looks interesting to me

I played final fantasy 11 for about 4 months on playstation 2. I must say that it is an incredibly indepth game with an almost unlimitless amount of things you can do to spend your time and can be rather enjoyable. however, I just did not feel as if I had the time to properly play the game. because you will get nowhere if you just play 1-2 hours a day. crafting can be fun but it takes money and alot of it. which is extremly hard to find in the first place and once you do get the stuff you need to craft, there are no gurantee's that it will work even if you have a high crafting level.
You have to remember the people that play ff11 are very serious about it. especially the pc players. I've seen people get married in the game and eventually get married in real life from meeting in the game.
pc players can play with ps2 players and soon xbox 360 players. The graphics are decent but it's not really meant to be played for the graphics but the interaction and character development.
A word of advice don't go into the game thinking your going to be able to do everything because you won't be able to unless you have absolutly no social life at all. I extremly extremly extremly suggest trying to find the straegy guide for it by prima, it is very helpful and will definatly give you an idea of what you might want to do. the official site is http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml or just google final fantasy 11 and you will find other sites.
If you want to craft focus on that. if you want your character to be powerful then only go after xp, there are other things to do as well but choose 1 otherwise you will find yourself running around a very big world trying to do multiple things.
I'm not sure how many people still play it so you will want to check out the website and see how many people are active. the strategy guide also gives information on everything that can be crafted and what is needed, along with maps, character builds, easy gil, etc. i can't stress it enough find the prima guide. if you are even thinking about playing it.

the game is horrible first off. The graphics for one thing are 2002 style old comp ones. And every class looks the same. Exp is goddly stupid(solo get 100exp , in party get 2 LOL). I put that stupid demo in and was liek WTF. ANd then uninstalled it. # hours for the worst online mmorpg game ever im sorry but that game sucks.
I ve played everything eq.eq2.uo,wow,swg,daoc and they kill that one.
They need to fix it up major. The only thing that was cool was that u could dbl class say fighter /white mage..
my 2 cents

cac maybe if you would have taken the time to play the game you might have liked it. you have to solo for at least the first 10-12 levels. after that the game starts to get to be a lot of fun. i was so hooked on it last summer that i stayed up 3 days straight with no sleep. this is definitely one of the better mmorpgs out there.

FFXII is my first taste of MMORPG, and if FF is a good one, I don't think i'm gonna be a big fan of the genre.

FFX11 has broke 2 standards set by Microsoft.
1.Its not 720p
2.Its not headset compatible
I could live with number 1 but number 2 has killed of any chance of me buying it, I have the beta version and it sucks. Microsoft should not have allowed this to happen.
+It takes up 5GB of HDD to play!!!!!!!!!!(well the beta version does)

well im a level 9 right now and im liking the game but just how some of you said i feel like i dont have enough time to keep with the game's pace. I played only like 2 hours a day this weekend and people seem to play like 8.
does any of you know if the game is going under live or if there's a fee associated to it? i was told it was 13$ a year and that you dont need live at all (only silver that comes with every 360), is that right?

First I'd like to say that I have played both everquest and ff11. There is no way you can compare the 2 because ff11 has so much more depth to it than EQ's go on quest, kill monsters, go on quest, kill monsters.
FF11 at least has a story line unlike eq. you don't have to follow it if you don't want to. you dont have to fight things. you can craft, fish, practice alchemy, and tons of other things.
Now as far as no voice chat, the pc and ps2 users don't have voice chat either. But the xbox 360 does. All the xbox 360 owners are found in the hydra world so if you ask someone their gamertag you can voice chat with them while playing. Even though it makes it easier I still have fun by typing. A keyboard and mouse do help and macros make life so much more convienent when in a party. makes it feel like the pc version.
as far as the graphics go try playing this rpg which has absolutly no graphics at all, it's all in text. Not only that but it's actually the most indepth rpg I have ever played online and has been given stellar reviews by many mags and game companies like id and blizzard. you play it online through your web browser. if you want to try it head over to www.imperian.com
And hova is right. once you get around lvl 10 or 12 it does get alot better. because you almost have to form parties. and yes you do eventually get more that 75 - 100 xp. I have a secret for any mage party with levels ranging from lvl 1 - lvl 20 to get around 500+xp easily with absolutly no threat of dying. hint - try finding some worms to fight

FlakMNKEY i think you're right. now im lvl 10 (i played one hour yesterday heh) and the more you get into the game, the more you like it. At the beginning you feel lost, so many things to do knowing nothing. what i still dont like is that im stuck on the bat mission (king radopee's or something tomb). I've killed around 20 ding bats and still no orcish scales. Same thing happened to me on the orcs mission to get the axe. I killed like 20 to get an axe, come on!
a question for you, do you know if x360 gamers will need to pay an extra fee for playing ffxi?
thanks!

check your private messages chamon.
well when I played it on ps2 it cost 11.99 a month im not sure what it is now but if use a search engine im sure you can find out. as far as for the xbox 360 I know you will have to pay to play it as your xbox live fee will not cover it. what the cost is has not been announced but im assuming it will be the same for ps2 and pc users.
Don't know what mission your talking about because im a taru in windhurst

great another falure
i hate ff11 online bull garbage
here is why
1. 14.99 a month to play it online
2. everytime a new map pack comes out or new story you have to pay 50 dollers for the upgrade in order to continue using the game online
3.the final fantasy game itself sucks because little cute bunnys can kick the living crap out of you
4. the only thing i would sign up for is the ff11 card game because it was so cool it was like magic the gathering meets final fantasy well worth 5.00 a month to play online
5.and if microsoft thinks they are going to make money on this there sadly mistaken take a look at the ps2 hard drive what happened when you installed ff11 on the hard drive your nice 40 gig went down to 20 gigs because of 4 gig updates
they are sadly mistaken indeed if they think they are going to make any money on this
a fool and there money will be soon departed for sure

i dont think it's going to be 15 a month, come on
expansions might download automatically. the pc expansions i think were like 20 bucks not 50
maybe you dont like the game but i do and im sure theres a bunch of people out there that like it as well
but i do see a problem, at least for me, on paying 11$ a month to play this game. I dont play that much, and i like to play stuff like cod2, kameo, quake4 and doa4 (my games on 360). For example, on weekdays i can play one hour a day and half the time i dont even turn on my 360. The other half i not only play ffxi. So , for me, it is very expensive. They should have some hours plan for average players like me!

As much as like final fantasy 11, I just don't have the free time to justify 12.99 a month just as I did on the ps2. Im sticking through with the beta testing but after that I'm done.
I wish sony would add some pc or ps2 players to the hydra world during the xbox beta. you have no idea how many people have no idea what they are doing, how to form parties, what the role of their character is, how to set macros etc. let alone only about 1% of the players actually have a keyboard that they use. It makes life so much easier.
I was in a group last night with 2 warriors, black mage, thief, and 2 white mages - i was 1 of the white mages. I know my role in the party, it is to stay out of the way of monsters, protect my group and heal. the other white mage on the otherhand sufferes from an identity crisis. He thought he was a tank and was fighting hand to hand not curing or anything. well as you can guess this does not work out very well. i run out of mp and he is still attacking and does not give any support casting. even as im frantically typing you are not a tank, get away and start casting he's doing nothing. and yes he did speak english. IDIOT!!!!
My suggestion if you want to play FF11, wait a few months for the xbox noobs to learn what they are doing, or switch to the ps2 or pc version

lol you're right there's a lot of people that don't know what they're doing, even me! hahahaha
for example, i haven't started crafting, fishing, or anything like that. To get money i have the guy casting signet on me and then i just get the crystals and sell them
i never played the pc or ps2 version i must say, so yeah im a noob trying to understand the game. on the other side, there's no way you can get there and know exactly what to do. I dont justify the white mage throwing punches hahahaha but i do justify people that don't know what to do, like me! i would like to make more money and i havent found any information in the game about how to get a subjob for example. You could say "hello!... Google" but that is not the objective. If you start to play a game you shouldn't google information to know how to do stuff, it should be in the game. Well maybe the information is in there, who knows, maybe i just didnt find it. I feel like there's so much to do in that game and almost no information.

MmMM sounds liek these guys aren't making enough $$ to run the servers if u gotta do this come on. ANd i would pay 1.00 a month for the crappy hud formation and no xbox live ? jesus u guys are dumb who liek this game . U want a real game try wow or eq

look cac if you're gonna come here with your childish attitude telling people they are dumb cos they like the game, better leave and unsubscribe this thread
i see that you have on your little image over there tiger woods 06. You wanna know my opinion of that game? probably dont, but here it goes anyway: the most annoying and dumb game of all times. Should i be calling every tiger woods 06 player a dumb retard? No. If i don't like it i just don't look for tiger woods 06 forums to talk crap of it and say you tiger woods 06 players are stupid.
you already gave your opinion. that is fine, say you dont like it, state your reasons , that's it. if youre gonna behave like a 14 yo tough wannabe telling people they're dumb then get out of here
