my mate let me rip a copy of his cd to my pc but the files are comming out as one file instend of each track as a file is there anyway i can change the file iv got into each mp3 file

You'll need to use an Audio Editor to split it into seperate tracks. Nero or Audacity will do this for you except when you go to save the specific parts these editors will Reencode the file. Which a lot of people will tell you creates a loss in quality. I've been using a program called mp3directcut recently. This one doesn't Reencode like the others do. You should check it out. Like I said, I just started using it so I'm not very familiar with it yet, so you'll have to play around with it a little. Just Google for it. Good Luck, & let me know what you think of it.

What program are you using to rip the cd? The best app is called Exact Audio Copy. This will rip all the files separetely and not as one big file. Do everything in this link: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm

i have never really seen the reason to copy a cd with so much work.i either copy them using Nero or rip them with wmp at 320KB's(mp3) and burn them and they sound the exact same i hear no difference.

wmp is dreadful compared to eac. eac makes a 100% perfect rip of the track where as wmp doesn't. it's up to you what you want to use but i'm making you aware that there is better software for ripping cd's than wmp.

it isn't that hard to use. at first it may look complex but there's really only a few things you need to make sure are right and then you can start ripping your cd's. also eac rips to other formats such as WAV, FLAC, and OGG.
