Can anyone tell me why, when useing Nero Recode 2, the timer for the project says that it is going to take 264 minutes to complete. the file is only (approx) 120 minutes long. That seems a bit long doesn't it? I have not problem using Nero Express. This is with Nero 7 Ultra Edition.

Make sure when you are burning dont multitask, close down ALL unnecessary progs, including Spyware, this really slows things down.

It also depends on the power of your PC.

I think I should have the power. AMD 64, 1 Gig Ram, I always turn off any programs running clean out the cashe. I was just wounder if this was usual for it to take that long. I have all the latest updates, From what I read Recode is supposed work alot better than what I'm getting with it?

It is a longer than normal time, what is the CPU of your computer, you certainly have enough RAM, could you post a Nero log of your failed burn we might be able to pick up the problem from that.

Check here for log
Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt
Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt

Clawhammer Core Socket 754 CPU. As for an Log file, I don't get an error, I let it rum over night a cuple time each time,it lookd like it was maybe 20% done, not much at all. I just had to stop it, so there was no error log made.

What i am after is the processor speed of your comp. If you have done a movie prior to this you should have a log file, post that one

Heres some info taken from another thread by bats

, one of the "corporate tech guys" usually is good with his stuff told me too defrag due to me transfering large files/folders such as movies, or saved/ripped dvd's etc from one drive to another, apparently makes Nero sensitive to where it takes forever to burn, So I defragged my C drive and wow big difference.. no problems so far, but I must say defragging makes a big deal with Nero from what I understand so whoever reads this, DEFRAG often when it comes to burning dvd's of any kind, most of mine were mps, mpeg and stored files etc so goodluck all
.
