Dear All,

I am happy to annonce that we have
just finished a huge 5.1 surround sound
compression research project.

Software tools for encoding movies
with full 5.1 surround,
and
for real time decoding are available now.

Here is an example of STDQ 128 kbps surround quality,
(encoded by one of Aud-X users):

To unpack, you'll need a 7zip software:
http://ovh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/sevenzip/7z432.exe

To play it in surround, you'll need Aud-X 1.1 codec:
http://www.aud-x.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=3 ... ilecatid=1

Use (for example) BSplayer to reproduce the AVI with Aud-X DirectShow decoder. Chose 5.1 output in the decoder to hear surround sound.
