I have a few questions...just bought a sony camcorder, told EASY to get my video on to computer to edit and burn to DVD. It cam with picture package software which apparently is not compatable with my hardware burner (lite on LDW 411S). So I needed to use another software...had nero on my computer which said it would not work with AVI file (what the camcorder has). A friend gave me nero 6 ultra to try. Cant get tutorial on line. Cant figure out what to do. Went to store, they said get a firewire. My computer is usb 2.0 capable so don't need a firewire and don't have correct port for one anyway. Another question....sony can't even tell me if the camcorder I bought (dcr hc42) is usb 2 compatable (every call gets me adifferent answer like the camera is but the cable and or docking station are not, to all are, to all are not).
Went to the store where I got my camcorder and they are all baffled. I have spent countless hours on something that should be simple. Can anyone please help. Hopefull the directions will be simple.
