ISREAL,
If I were you I will choose taiyo yuden, follow by verbratim and then maxell. Taiyo Yuden is the hot favourite in afterdawn follow by verbratim. Make sure the taiyo yuden and maxell are made in japan and well verbratim nowaday is made in taiwan.

Download dvd identifier from afterdawn to test your dvd media.
It will tell you whether it is made in japan or taiwan. If it is made in CMC or pros then you are in big trouble and prepare for roller coaster.

'dvd identifier' retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on dvd media (dvd+r, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, DVD+RW dl, DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW and dvd-ram) and on Blu-ray media (bd-r and bd-re). This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or sometimes there might not even be any packaging information at all.
To summarize : 'dvd identifier' offers a reliable method of accurately identifying the disc's real manufacturer.
