@Binkie:

I use DVD Decryptor to burn my ISO images.
that being said, it seems even if I set my burn speed to
2X, but Decryptor will write it at 4X. That happens only
with the 16X media, not with the 4X media. what's with that.

@unolord:
thanks for the Canadian link. I'm in Calgary. I will look
into ordering online. that might be better than me constantly
taking back blank media saying it's crap.

Txs for the Canadian online store! That's the one I couldn't remember :)

@perogyboy
2x is too slow for 16x media. On the good 16x - try 8x once and see how that does w/ your player. I burn no slower than 8x. Give it a shot.

Booktype those +R to DVD-Rom in decrypter too. Here's some pics using a LiteOn - you would pick LG instead.

Try it and let us know!

Yep cincyrob same one I go recently. Great drive - burned quite a bit on it so far. Plan to get my 30 bucks worth out of it :0)

Nero will automatically booktype this one by default when using +R media. Well using Nero 7 it does - should in Nero 6 too.

I have another Liteon that I always have to set the booktype in Nero but not w/ this one.

It sets a field in the disc to make it appear to be a DVD-Rom (like the commerical/original dvd's). So your player thinks the disc is a DVD-Rom instead of a +R. Increases compatability w/ players and may help playback problems.
Doesn't take any longer - just set it and it will set the field when burning. Very easy ;)
