Please re-read the first post I made in this thread-It will tell you what you need to get started...This is not the manual method you may have read about. Trust me, you dont want to have to do try and make your memory stick the manual way..Just grab the cso, and the OFW updates and follow the directions I listed-its actually quite easy.

I looked at the original thread and I was shocked :P

It would take me 5 tries to get that done :P

 So, this guide is brilliant.

^^It would take pretty much anybody five tries (or more)to get it right going the manual route (myself included)..I have been using this since it was just the original Pandora(v1) with the add-ons..Once they added the other menus and when it was required to have the multi-IPL on your memory stick, thats when things became confusing...You would not believe the number of times I have had to remake my memory stick because of an update for a newer app so it would work with another one properly, or most recently being the "joker fix"-Yeah, the manual way is not good....

^^At first, yeah...You had to download all of the components seperately until somebody came up with the idea of packaging them all together into about 20 different rar files...But even when v3 came out, it took me about an hour and a half to go through the guide..And that was just basically copy/pasting files and renaming a few text lines..It was not fun at all...

Ok, my problem is I did it the non-manual way. Its not working. Need to make the memory stick only. I have the battery already. The thing is I'm making the memory stick from the slim for the phat. So, any suggestions, ideas, or tips?

Yo deez_nuts, thanks again for creating me the UPMS
I was just wondering something, i have the 1gb sandisk memory with all the Unbricker files, so... is it possible if i copy and paste all those files to my 256mb memory stick? and will it still work ?

because i wanna use my 4GB and 1GB MS, instead of using my 4gb and my 256 MS.

thx again, just wondering if it would work

Just try it... Backup all the files from the 1GB to the desktop. Don't delete the files on your 1GB. Now, place the backed up files onto your 256MS then try the UPMS. If that doesn't work, then I'm afraid that you'll have to stick to the 256MB and 4GB.

As far as copy/pasting the files over to your 256MB memstick-I would follow the advivce that kikzm33z gave a couple posts up...I dont think it will work, but its worth a try...The reason it may not work is because the IPL is written directly to a sector in the memory stick itself, and you cant copy/paste that.

If worst comes to worst-you would just have to use the installer cso to make one of your own on the 256MB..Provided you have a psp running cfw. If you need help with it, send me a PM.

Ah! Too many options. I'm just going to do the one where you can upgrade both Fat and Slim PSPs to 3.71 M33-2. I don't see why you need 10 different options.

 My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel |

It's easy. In fact, I don't know where it is or what it's called, but there is an app you can run (homebrew) which will format your memstick just like you need via mspinst. It's for total n00bs.

 No, I don't know how.

I don't have access to a psp with CFW, so I'd need the easiest installer to make a magic memory stick.

Well unfortunately, if you don't already have a psp w/ custom fw or a mate who has one, you're kind of out of luck. You need 1.50 kernel to create the memstick in this format.
