I was able to get it to run with dvdshrink & anydvd 6.5.3.1 but it will not compress the disc at all. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure Dvd Shrink's output is set to either Dvd-5 or a custom target output of 4400 or so.

Uncheck all unnecessary languages and subtitles.

Run through Deep Analysis then hit Backup!

Hello, I have tried to rip Twilight and I've used AnyDVD 6.5.3.1 and AnyDVD 6.5.3.2 Beta, RipIt4me, DVD Rebuilder, and DVDFab...

None of these worked... It would tell me that there is an error. There is nothing wrong with my dvd player/burner. I just burned some files to dvd not to long ago.

Can anyone help me with this?

Exchange your DVD.

I couldn't get ripit4me to work either. However, DVD Fab worked marvelously. I didn't bother to download the new ANYDVD, but now that you've mentioned it, I will, just to confirm what you said: that it does work!

A little advice about using DVD FAB to burn TWilight. DVD FAB rips and marks files to a designated folder. Mine was still named Michael Clayton. Open your Explorer file manager and access those files. Open DVD Shrink. Use your cursor to darken all the video files in your Twilight video files. Then drag the whole bunch to DVD Shrink. You'll immediately get an error, then another and another. That's just shrink recognizing that many of these so called files are bogus. Each time you hit OK, a bogus video file is discarded. Go through all the bad files until you have no more warning popups because all the bads are gone. The Producers of Twilight, in trouble because Redbox is giving away its DVDs at a dollar a rent, booby trapped the Twilight disk so that it could not be easily burned and replicated. Similarly, when you have an iso file, and attempt to burn a disk in imgfile, a popup will warn that the file can't be opened. One of the outs on that popup, however, is continue. Continue and imgfile will burn you a pristeen copy of Twilight.

There's no need to do all of this. As I stated in the first post, I had no problems.

jaszmin - please remove the facebook link from your signature as it's classed as advertising (won't hold facebook being pointless against you though).

Anyways, have never heard of anyone selecting movie files in Windows explorer and dropping said selection onto DVD Shrink. Hmmm...

All you need to do is open DVD Shrink and point Shrink to the DVDFab folder.
The one thing to note is that DVDFab isn't known for producing 'clean' rips so it's highly recommended to use vobblanker or FixVTS after every DVDFab rip so that DVD Shrink or whatever program you use has a clean set of movie files to work with.

edit- dialysis beat me to it, there's a few success stories in this thread already so it seems there's no problems for DVDFab (like all other movies in fact)..

Well, I can only say that your experience was not the same as mine.
If I hadn't done what I'd done, I wouldn't be looking at a perfect copy of Twilight. That warning I got trying to burn with imgfile was the first warning I've ever had with imgeburn at the last stage. Dragging files onto a program from Explorer is an old trick that sometimes opens some doors that aren't open through other techniques
that accomplish the same thing. Occasionally the trick bypasses attempts by programs to stop a process entirely. A note to the person who didn't know how to get the iso file to imgeburn to burn. There is a tiny yellow folder at the top of imge burn once you've opened imgeburn, which is the gateway into explorer. Click on that folder and explorer will pop up. Double click on the iso you want to burn. It will appear in another popup. Once it is there, you will find it is already in your imgburn. So simply close that popup and when you return to imgeburn, you will find your target in imgeburn is now C:\Twilight.iso Click on the little green triangle that starts imgeburn. I just got the same warning popup and hit continue. Its possible you won't get that. In either case, you're on your way to a perfect copy with no repeats after the lunchroom scene, of Twilight. I'm watching it on a video projector right now.

Incidentally, I couldn't find an ANYDVD 6.5.3.2 version. Its not available on the traditional slysoft site. So where are the rest of you getting it. And is there an ANYDVD Beta site, where THAT version is available, separate from the traditional site?

..from here ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/583718 ..though you've already been advised that DVDFab works perfectly fine for this movie.

I asked you to remove the link from your signature, instead you post an email address which i've now removed. You'd best read the Forum Rules which are in my signature..

I know I'm late in this thread, but work kinda gets in the way of ripping my movies. This one was easy with dvdfab 5230 (not the latest, but I didn't update while I was saving for some new electronics), processed with fixvts, compressed with dvd shrink, and burned with imgburn. Looks great. Will have to do the second disk later.

so it appears that chapter 24 of this movie is not with the first 23 chapters - when running through vobblanker, i must be blanking the part that contains it - i can't seem to figure out what to blank and what to keep to make it work properly - anyone know?
