Hey, it's probably a stupid question, but I have to make sure.
The reason why i´m asking is because as far as I understand is that almost every burn is inperfect and that the burners have software that makes up for tha inperfections. I have no idea on what way, weather it interpets what should be in an area wheret there is an error. And thats why your dvd drive on your pc can read much worse dvd´s then your ps2.

But is it possible to extract a good iso from a bad copy, a copy that lets say stutters on your ps2. Is it possible that before the data is stored on the iso on your hard drive it is corrected by your dvd drives software, and you can burn a good copy.

My second question is, which of these 2 is the better dvd writer
The benq DW 1650/1655 http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=1...
or
the nec nd 4551 http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=1...

My third question, and this is more of a curiosity question is.

Why can´t you burn copies of ps2 games that can be played without the need for a chip or swap magic. Cause how were the swap magic people able to make a cd that fools the ps into thinking it´s legit. Does the ps2 check some area on the dvd that normal burners can´t burn anything on or something.

The fourth question
I bought recently an ps2 off ebay, it came with copied games. Now most of them have stuttering problems. I´ve noticed that they pretty much only occur whith cgi´s, and with some games the sound plays like before the video starts. So the video keeps going for a little while after the sound is gone. Now it plays dvd movies great, no problems and ingame sounds are also great and no stuttering. Now I read here on these forums that this can be caused by bad burns, but there is always a chance that the hardware might be bad. So does tha fact that dvd movies playback and ingame sound is good, proof enough that it´s just the copies and not the hardware. Cause you know otherwise the ps2 would also play dvd´s with stuttering. Or is it still possible that it is an harware issue.

In any case, thnx in advance for your anwsers.

1. its possible, ive done it
2. nec
3. makers of swap magic used a dvd press (like sony) to press the swap magic code over an original ps2 game (so all the copy protection stuff is on the disc).
4. the games are probably on crappy discs
