Hello,

I tried to convert an Xvid .avi to DVD using DVD Santa, but after burning the DVD and putting it on my DVD player, I find it's too dark (but otherwise perfect). I was wondering if there is any way to brighten it, perhaps before using DVD Santa to encode and burn it, or by changing a setting in DVD Santa? I should note that it's actually two .avi's joined together in DVD Santa.

I'm not certain whether the .avi is NTSC or PAL, I'd like it to be PAL if possible. The properties of the .avi give a few details which might be handy:

Width 560px
Height 304px
Audio Bit Rate 448kpbs
Video Frame rate 25fps
Data Rate 211kbps
Video sample size 12bit
Video Compression XVID

I chose 4:3 and set the video resolution to 720x576 and PAL.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Well the AVI file seems like it is PAL because it has the 25fps PAL Frame rate....

I don"t know about DVD-Santa but other encoders Like TMPGEnc have Built in Image Filters you can use to adjust the Brightness and Contrast and Color and Many Many other Perameters....

You could also use something like Virtual-Dub to Brighten up the AVI file but that would require you to re-encode the AVI file to add the Brightness which would have a very negitive impact on the Picture Quality....

Good luck

Cheers, I'll have a look at DVD Santa's settings and see if I can find anything likely looking, if not I'll have a look at TMPGEnc.
