I have had a number of AVI format backups, and i have been trying to burn them on to DVD-R discs using Nero 6.6. I have tryied burning a number of discs, and then they all seem to play for a little bit (this is in a regular Set Top dvd player), and then start to pixelate/hang etc. I have tried to play the same discs on other players (xbox etc) and they still will not work. The process i use is Nero quickstart, DVD maker, drag and drop a AVI in the box and Start. I have tried different media types, Maxel DVD-R, And Sony DVD-R, and I have tried to slow the Burn process to 4X and 2X, and this error still occurs. HELP PLease!!!]
Thanks.

I am not sure, i am guessing they would because play on a CDROM drives because they are a little more ressiliant then Stand alone Units. I did more research and found out it could be the Unit overheating because it had a hard time playing theses discs(problem would typically occur at lease 30mins or so into the movie). It was a strange occurance because i thought maybe it was dust a couple times , and would take it out dust it playt again and it would work for a little while. Still not quite sure how to fix the problem The discs are being made on a sony D56a burner(dell laptop) with most current firmware. Any suggestions.??
Thanks

you could try cleaning your lasers in all your units with a dvd cleaner kit
otherwise the problem may be with your burner have you tried playing a comercial dvd or a burnt one that you lnow works
