Does anyone know of any FREE NO TRIAL music editors? I need one so i can split whole songs into 30 second ones and loewr bitrate so i can fit on my cellphone as new ringtones. Its not illegal, trust me i looked, its just a good use of software. Any suggestions? I lost my copy of nero and dont feel like buying another way too much money for me

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

get imtoo mpeg encoder. the unregistered version will only let you encode 5 minutes at any one time but since your only after 30 secinds it will do you fine. you can set the start and end time for each encoding aswell so lets say you had a 3min 30 second track you could load the track in to the encoder 10 times and set them to start and finnish every 30 seconds like 0 -30 secs then the next one 30 - 60 secs and so on

you can get imtoo from http://www.download.com just search for it
