the biggest on that list is 16meg which means will give you 64meg. as 4x16=64. don't even think of putting xp on a 200mhz as that will be sloooowwwww!!!

edo is just a type of ram as can use either edo & non-edo or both at same time. xp will be slow the entire time & the 200mhz might not meet xp requirements.

72 pin edo must be run in pairs you would reqire 4 X 32mb sticks but the mod is right even with 128mb of ram on a 200mhz system XP would be dissapointing at best

I mean if you have two computers in your home they are often refered to as stations by telling you to look at an upgrade I mean cosider upgrading the 200mhz unit with a larger motherboard and cpu as the 200 just wont run xp succesfully as I said in a further post a larger board can be aquired for a very small outlay you're going to spend $100 plus on xp on a machine that just wont run properly

You need this memory:
http://www.pccanada.com/inventory.asp?cat=MEMORY
You can see that to get 256MB would cost $220 bucks plus tax...
Even 4 x 32MB would cost $160 bucks, LoL - it's only Canadian $$ but still, modern 512MB DDR sticks are only $50 bucks each.
With 256MB, that 200MHz would run XP Home okay (email, internet, word processor etc.)
Quote: now there is 2 chips 16 x 2 = 32 total
Yikes! You need more memory than that to run Win98...
Honestly: I would install 2 x 32MB (2 x $40) and for $80 bucks you would have a total of 96MB and could run Win98 just fine :^)
It will do anything you want (anything WinXP could do with 256MB).
You might consider Win2K OS for it...
Keep 'em running! (and out of landfill) but ya gotta watch the $$
Regards
Edit: Link not working too good :^(

No way, the biggest are 64MB and you need 4 of 'em to hit 256MB (the maximum he could ever run).
@ philraz
I know, it's crazy right? The old SIMMs are what kill old PCs, a shame really because even an old boat like Pentium2-350MHz will run PC100 or PC133 SDRAM. Makes all the difference.
But I would spend $80 bucks on it or whatever, WTF. I like old computers, and the 200MHz could still work for some old lady or student or someone...
But yeah, LoL you spend money on it, it's still gonna be slow :^)
