subtitles in my DVD player

I want to rip a DVD file that have a subtitle in it. I want to play the ripped files in my DVD player but there's no subtitles. What can i do

If you rip the movie into VCD, the subtitles have to be integrated into the video (=you can't turn them off). In other hand, if you rip your movie into SVCD, subtitles work just like in DVD. Some guides for this:

This method requires some commercial tools that you need to get first.
