Nope, you need to patch your backups DNA ID's.

20. Q. What are DNA's?
A. Any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk
DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover which .img file on the game disc has the checker file.

I think the online server checks something in the Burst Code Analysis (BCA) area of the game. Press burners are capable of writing that part of the disc, commercial burners are not. So any copy of the game would be missing verification data in that area. I can't think what else it'd check. If the chip is turned off, there's no way to detect it, and obviously anybody using Swap Magic has no hardware mod. So that rules out the Console/Ilink ID. Anyway it's pointless, it can't be done.
