Why the hell would you buy a 360 from Japan and play in UK? Japan uses NTSC/J, and UK uses PAL.
Sony PS2 (Playstation 2) Slimline (V12) GH-035-71
Sony Playstion 2 Region: NTSC (North America - USA and Canada)
DVD-/+R: Verbatim DVD-/+R 1x-8x 4.7GB MCC and PRO-DATA DVD-R 4x 4.7GB
DMS4 Lite Modchip + ToxicBIOS Ver. 1.3 + Possible Fix
Dual Shock Controller
Dual Shock 2 Controller
8MD Memory Card
Burner: Sony DVD RW DW-D26A
Software: DVDDecrypter, Nero, and Alcohol 120%

The japanase 360 console voltage is 110v. If in the UK is 220v you must buy a transformer voltage to play 360.

Why would you buy a japanese console if you live in UK? Are you japanese? Considering all the hassle you're gonna go through to make it work, there must be a reason. Let's see, there's:
>voltage difference
>getting the japanese games
>making them work on a PAL tv(unless you have an NTSC tv already)
>translating the japanese games(unless you already know japanese)
I hope you get it all working and have fun. But I'm just curious.

Like I said before..if in your house the voltage is 110v there is no need to buy ac adapter, and if in your house the voltage is 220v/240v buy a ac adapter.
PAL games doesn't work on 360 japan...but several game of US version can play in 360 japan, like Call of Duty 2, Quake 4 and Codenamed Origin.

-The games that you will be able to play are the region free games.PAL and NTSC are less relevent in terms of resolutions now due to HDTV so I belive the bigger games will all be region free.
-Your DVDs will still work because japan is region 2 just like the UK.
-You need an adapter

i'm not sure but they're required to put that on the back label, so it should be easy to find (even if in japanese) i know the PS2 was 75Watts (i believe) so just look for a number between like 75 and 150.

There was a thread made about importing consoles on xboxscene here
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=471219
Thats all I know mate, I have never owned an import myself. If you would like to know more I suggest you create an xboxscene account and PM Xombe(the guy who made the thread)

thanks , i got it all sorted now, but i still havent recieved the xbox360. the delivery time is 3-5 days. its only been day 2 yet.
thanks for ur help guyz, i also bought a VGA box thigy which allows you to use ur pc monitor to play the xbox on. it also has other sockets so i can add my video, dvd player etc. I have spare monitors so i could use them.
I have a flat montior, hopefully it will work on it without the need of my computers graphics card.
anybody know how to check?

To play Xbox 360 on PC Monitor you need to buy VGA HD Cable for 360...there is a cheap one (3rd party) on www.play-asia.com just $10 ^^

agent47, you just plug it into your PC monitor, it has nothing to do with your PC. Anyway a VGA box(if by VGA box you mean one of those things that converts composite to VGA) is NO WAY near as good as the VGA cable which I seriously suggest you buy.

too late i bought a vga box.
it is completely rubbish. it makes the xbox game look like a playstation one game.
i didn't expect that much quality but i wanted at least dvd's to play normally but the colours are all funny and also the screen is sooooooo fuzzy.
that one on play asia looks good. but i am not too sure it will be good. worth it for such a low amount.
none games in the shops work on my xbox 360.
i thought i might want to sell it and buy a PAL one as soon as they arrive in stock.
but after checkin out play-asia.com i changed my mind.
the games are sooooo cheap.
any other good websites?
u lot are really helpin me out, u changed my decision in seconds

i'm sellin my xbox after only just getting it.
it is still boxed, i prefer the UK version as it has more games compatibility. i was put off when the fifa 06 did not work (uk version), i dont like playing other versions.
hopefully it will go for £250 with all the premium stuff all boxed.
Pm me if ur interested
anyway, i bought that vga adaptor thingy from play-asia.com, link of item is given 2/3 replies above.
does this require my pc through connection or will it work alone with my LCD flat monitor?
thanks,

It will work direct to your TV as long as it has a VGA port
