Hey I have a choice to make and I am asking for some people's input. I have the option to get an Xbox 360 or I can wait and preorder a PS3. From what it looks like to me the Xbox 360 has better specs, but right now it is hard to tell. Should I buy the Xbox 360 or wait for the PS3. Thanks for the feedback.

depends on who you ask, do you have a ps2 or an xbox that might sway your opinion? i mean really nobody can tell you which you'll like better, there is still not an exact date for the ps3, where-as the 360 is already out. or you could just buy both of them? i know i'll probably purchase a PS3 eventually (def. not when it comes out) i'll probably wait for the price to drop on that, not to mention they don't even have a MSRP yet, soo it could be u drop say $400 on the pre-order and then find out when it's released that you owe say another $400 on it, well for that, you could have already had your 360 for god knows how long (atleast 6 months) so far, i think the Ps3 is along way off for starting the pre-sale...but at the same time, if you've liked your PSone and PStwo then i think it'd be a reasonable step to make (i'm not a fan boy of any sytem) i'm still waiting for ingame footage of the PS3....
it depends on what your gaming tastes are as well, or are you just going to buy one, to have one? look at the launch line-ups for PS3 compared to the complete line ups of the 360 by that point (if u have an estimated date for PS3 release) also. don't forget to keep in mind how much games cost for each system (360 - 49.99 to 59.99)(PS3 - Does Anyone know projected cost of a game?)
or just bring it all down to flippin coin?
i know i probably didn't help but the best bet is look at the games they're planning on having for each system, and go by that the specs mean really little in the long run, consider the average life expectancy for a system in the technologies standpoint. (under 10yrs)
but like i said, we can't decide for you. good luck w/ your choice, and let us know what u decide.

i am buying all three, but in your case start with the xbox 360, b/c its already out, its passed the stage of bugs and crappy games and its now moving onto gears of war and ghost recon 3 type games. then when you have saved up more get the ps3.

No matter which system you get, I recommend the Revolution as a cheap secondary system. While PS3 and 360 will be very similar, the Revolution is toted to be a completely different experience.

Coming frm a Sony fan, I have to say 360, its more customizable and easier yo work. And becuase of Xbox Live, but if PS2 online is free, go with PS3, but I doubt it'll be free.

although i am 15yrs old i can afford my own stuff.
i never burden my parents - although they dnt mind, but i prefer wasting my own money on my technology
i make my own money. i just bought a premium xbox 360 (£280), i ordered a 19" flat screen HD monitor for my pc (over £400). i am about to purchase a 6800 Ultra nvidia agp card for about £160.
and i am waiting for the new nokia n80 to come out, i got a samsung D600 so far, the estimated price for the Nokia N80 will be £350 at least.
so if i can spend £350 on a phone, than the ps3 should not be more expensive than £500 which is in my price range. £500 will be ok for me to pay for.
so dont under estimate a 15yr old (or actually u called me a child)
regards,

Well i ordered my 360 on Fri, and should be getting it 2moro (mon).
Ill let u know how it goes. I got to say im more of an xbox fan than ps3.
The Blu-ray dvd readers on the PS3 will make it more expensive than xbox 360. There is talk of the 360 needing its dvd drives upgrading to HDDVD drives. But i wouldnt count on that any time soon.
The overall expense of the PS3 console and its games will be the downside.
I know Microsoft were losing money making xbox's, and now they are losing money on the xbox360's, but apparently when the ps3 comes out, it will be losing more per unit than the 360.
I managed to book my 360 in after months of waiting after xmas, If you live in the uk take a look at www.game-retail.co.uk
They have the premium xboxs in stock at the moment. Its worth taking a look as you can buy the premium xbox now, and you'll have to wait ages just for a ps3.
I also heard that the ps3 will need a higher spec tv for playing its high definition games (compared to xbox360) so be prepared to folk out for that too (roughly £400 tv)
One of my mates said that the ps3 will be coming out in two versions like the 360. But im not sure yet to believe him.
The only handy thing i found that the ps3 will be able to do, is to use a psp as an extra controller. So at least you wont have to pay for a controller if you have a £200 handheld device.........lol
Thanks,

You know I'm starting to get sick of those typos. Why not call it the 360???? Sooner or later some newbie will think the PS3 is worse than the XBox. Plus it doesn't matter if Sony is losing a lot on each PS3. They made a profit off the PS2 which was selling at a loss very close to that Microsoft had on each XBox. I seriously doubt Sony's Playstation division will be in red anytime soon unless something drastic happens. Plus the XBox 360 is not technically more powerful. Need to put both side by side and test them extensively but I'm guessing it'll be pretty much a draw. Plus the PS3 has a much much wider selection of games. And a $200 handheld device as a controller is not so bad. I remember someone calling the DS the best $300+ alarm clock ever when it came out.

well get the 360 now, and get the ps3 when it comes out, thats my suggestion, thats actually the plan im takin lol, so far got the xbox 360, and the revolution....i have no clue, LOL, nintendo is a totally different genre, but still a hit for other gamers who like mario lol,( hey im not trying to discourage others who are fanatics of nintendo cause yeah, i still like nintendo), but neways yeah, theres just couple differences between the systems, its just that ps3 has an intense processor, but the 360 has the 512 dedicated memory, which is really fast...but yeah, buy 360 now, save and buy ps3 later, so you'll have two top of the line consoles....and yeah with any xtra money...buy the revolution lol, well yeah...

go with a 360 unless you have 700.00 for a ps3
sony is going to have the highest price because of the hd dvd drive

NO nO NO, its not gonna be $700, there was a issue about that before, but turns out its gonna be the same price as the 360, said it will mess up market trading n stuff like that...some sort of unbalance

Of course it's not going to be $700. The highest they might consider is like $500. And the Revolution isn't that bad. Nintendo firstparty games are quite good.
