I'm looking to buy a creative labs 30 gb jukebox mp3 player. I'd like to know if I can also use the mp3 player as an additional storage device/hard drive for my xbox 360.

Also I'd like to know what is the easiest way for me to play mpeg files on my 360. I don't have windows media center but I do have windows media connect and can my music and photos.

Can I just put the mpeg files on to a dvd and it will play on my 360 or do I have to convert them with windows movie maker and dvd santa?

here's a list of supported (and non-supported) devices:

looks like the Jukebox 2, Jukebox 3, Jukebox Zen, and Jukebox Zen NX are not supported while the Jukebox Zen Xtra is supported.

mpeg files have to be streamed from a pc with win mce. without it you have to burn a dvd-video disc - any dvd authoring software should do the job. putting the mpeg files directly on a blank dvd won't work.

Yeah im looking at the 30 gb zen xtra jukebox. So does that mean I can use it to store game saves or just play music from it on my 360?

Can you transfer mp3's from your compatible digital audio player to the 360's HDD? Are there other ways to transfer files to the HDD?

Nope just tried that. Only way to play music on your xbox 360 so far is to either stream it from your computer or rip a cd to the HDD

i've seen comments in other forums saying that you can also use external usb hard drives as long as they're formatted using the FAT32 file system (not NTFS). of course, as with other portable storage devices and the 360, you can only use these for music and pictures. if you're looking for a simple storage device for your 360 this may be a cheaper alternative to the jukebox zen xtra.

FlakMNKEY: don't buy that device if all you're gonna use it for is hooking it up to your 360... just get an external drive. but if you're looking to actually carry your music/data around, that player is hard to beat. i have the 60 gig version and absolutely love it. it's rock solid and has excellent battery life.
