Greetings to all,
In addition to two wonderful, free programs that work well,
good old Lavasoft Adaware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
and Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/
There is a new product I have found, that is very good :^)
It is called Ewido
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
and it works fantastic. It helped me exorcise something nasty called Nail (Aurora) which was very reluctant to say goodbye...
Everyone should have the first two; update their definitions and run them both.
Then install Ewido and update its definitions. Disconnect Internet and reboot.
Run Ewido and perform its maximum scan!
Let's put these leeching parasites out of their misery (buncha bastages) and get our PCs back ;^)
Regards

Ewido has been used for a long time now.. With the special infection fixes, and logs that has a lot of random trojans/files. But Ewido also finds false positives, so you should always save the backups. As for Nail/Aurora, Ad-Aware and it's Plug-in VX2Cleaner will remove the entire infection if used correctly.

scorpNZ,

I wouldn't use Windows Defender beta.. It's from Microsoft - and its beta.

Spyware Guard WAS good, but there's really no use if Javacool isn't going to update it. Definitions are something like 2 years old. Even though people say in the official support forums that it still does great job.. No thanks.

SpywareBlaster is incredible.. People should definately use it. Small, doesn't take resources much, does a great job.

Yeh scorpNZ, maybe you should use protection from that thread..i agree with Rawe kinda, microsoft anti spyware is from microsoft and is in Beta...but thats great, i dont think the same goes for there new secuirty suite though,i would love it if they proved me wrong, if microsoft provided a qaulity secuirty suite that was free i'd love them :D

Hi Rav,
Kewl :^) I've never set foot in here before (not even a toe) LoL
But wanted to mention the Ewido - never seen it before, and I was led to believe it is somewhat 'new'.
Better too much info than not enough I s'pose...
Wish more were reading your guides (terrible infections everywhere!)
99/100 PCs infected badly.
Oh well; we battle.
Best Regards
