Hello! I just want to know if i find a spot to D/L swap magic should i burn it to a dvd-r or a cd-r.If its a Cd swap magic should it be on a cd-r and same with Swap magic dvd should be on a dvd-r or does it really matter what i burn swap magic to?

It depends on if it is a dvd version or cd version. If dvd version you must burn to dvd. Vice versa

Ok thanx.I try to burn it with Dvd derypter but it keeps telling me the Dvd/cd is to small anyone have any idea how i can fix it.

Hate to be a pain but when i burn swap magic do i use Dvd-rom (iso)or burn it just like a movie using Dvd-video. I'm using Nero

you cant boot a backup copy of swap magic without your ps2 being modded which would go against the point of downloading it in the first place.

Also use DVD shrink to read and save the ISO (This will shrink the ISO size automatically). Then write the disc using DVD decrypter.
P.S. Write it as ISO not DVD movie format.

what are you talking about dvdshrink doesnt work for ps2 games e.g swapmagic. And a burned copy of it is useless because you would as mcdadez said either need amodchip or the original swap magic to boot it.

swap magic wiil not work if burned to a DVDR or cdr
these discs are pressed in a special way & will not boot games if you dont have the original. - yes they will if you have a chip but if you have a chip then why would you use swap magic???

FALSE INFORMATION
1)- You CANNOT copy swap magic disks they must be originals.
2)- You CANNOT use DVD Shrink on ps2 games IT WONT WORK.
SWAP MAGIC DISKS MUST BE ORIGINALS.
Unless you have a mod-chip installed but what would be the point.
Also here is the correct procedure for burning ps2 dvd's
Using dvd decrypter.
My setup ver7 with fliptop kit and swapmagic.
1. Take the ps2 game put it in the dvd rom or dvd burner, your choice.
2. open the dvd decryptor program then go to to tool bar and hit MODE>ISO>READ. Then choose the correct dvd drive that the game is in as the "source". Also choose where you want the files to be stored on the pc hdd. THEN CLICK DECRYPT , or the huge graphical picture at the bottom of the program which makes it run. The game is now copying to your HDD. Take the game out when finished (it might take a while).
3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files created so pick the .mds file.

Thanx everyone!1 more thing does it matter what kind of dvd or cd i use when i burn the games like does it have to be a DVD-R or DVD-RW or cd-r?what should i use right now i'm using Memorex DVD-R and cd-r i use anything -)

Memorex are one of the worst media's you can buy.
Also the ps2 laser CANNOT read rw disks,
So stick with a high grade +r or -r

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2
Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:
RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)

Dvd shrink is to COMPRESS MOVIES you cannot compress ps2 games they have to be re-built using ISOBUSTER or apache 2.

I have been doing this for a lot longer than you.
DVD shrink MAY burn an .iso if its smaller than 4.7 gb
But IT WILL NOT COMPRESS PS2 GAMES LIKE YOU SAY.
