i was on another site about ipod crap and they said that you can put high definition files on ipod 5g. is this true?

You can put them on, they just won't be shown in high definition as the iPod screen isn't high definition!

No way. That's too expensive for Apple. They build iPod as cheaply as possible without appearing to 'slack' somewhat..
