Will AnyDVD work with Xcopy Platinum. I bought Xcopy a month before the non ripper version was released around January 2004 and it worked fine up until tonight when I tried to back up Bambi 2. Looks like my $130 worked for awhile. I liked Xcopy because it was extremely easy to use. Never had to learn about ripping, decoding and burning. anyone have good luck with the Xcopy Platinum and AnyDVD is there an all in one new product out that will work.
Thanks

I too favored Xcopy, and tried using it with AnyDVD to prolong its life. After randomly generating coasters, I finally gave up. Too bad, it was an easy product to use.

Hi guys,
Why dont you drop xcopy plat and download dvdshrink for a change?
dvdshrink is free and much better than xcopy plat. I have been using xcopy for last time but I change to dvdshrink which is much easy to use and understand. Speed wise is faster and better quality.
You can use it with AnyDVD that go without saying.
Give it a try...

Thanks for your reply, But I read DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypt, Nero, DVD9, AnyDVDm DVVD, burn it ripp it and then your done. I do not know the process and this is just an exaggeration of how I now perceive backing up DVD's, but this is what I been reading on forums and I forgot alcohol, had a few last night reading many posts.
Lets start from basics, if anyone wants to help. For example to burn Bambi 2. What software do I need? will it work all the time? I also want to burn one of the Pink Panther movies that does not work.
Is there a complete 1 to 3 click one software that will do the trick? I am open to learn the DVD Shrink way,
I liked the 321 forums and the ease of backing up my DVD's with the product. It worked for me all the time it was a $130 software and well worth it for me. I have young kids and after I had (me) damaged my sons Playstation 2 game and it was 2 days after the replacement warranty and Sony had refused to replace it. This is when I started burning DVD's. Games I never figured out. Maybe some day I will figure out virtual drives.
I am ranting...
Thanks so much I am extremely confused.

games arent that hard either. u can get it all from slysoft. u will need a mod chip for the ps2 or swap magic. dont forget DVD Decrypter for the dvd games, use this in iso mode to rip and burn. use clone cd for the cds.

To extend the life of platinum v4038 ye must upgrade to platinum rf40415,which will install in its own folder..as then both can be used and v40415 will activate off of the v4038 program..
rf means ripper free, and now AnyDVD will work and all movies and (sony} can be copyed..
note:if ye have a crack version of v4038,v40415 will not activate off of v4038..

Thanks. I have a fullly paid boxed version with original disk and licence code and password of Xcopy Platinum. What is the best way to back up Bambi 2. I was kind of hesitant to add additional software because I thought is may screw up my Platinum Xopy with ripper and it still does backs-up some movies. Let me know what two software I should try, what software is free and what will have to be paid for (trial version) and what is the safest way on line to buy it. I like to save money, but I also don't mind paying to get it to work. I did try Alcohol 120% and this is way beyond my understanding and time availalbe to learn it, thank goodness it was a trial. You all have been great help, better than I had anticipated. I thought I would be hung out to dry because of my severe lack of knowledge on this subject.
Thanks
Chris

@Ireland, you use Acronis to ghost. What program did you use to back up the hd to dvds? Nero wouldn't work for us.

Ok to get back to how to back up Bambi 2 as a sample. Do I use the new RF version of DVD Xcopy. Will this disable my ripper? Do I instal AnyDVD with or without the new Xcopy or do I use the old Xcopy. Do I scrap Xcopy and us AnyDVD with something else. I'm confused again.

@ ireland, im sitting here looking at the copy of dvdxcopy platinim i bought in 2003. i paid $150 us, for this app. the first ticket i filled out worked great, all was good. the second time they pretty much told me good luck, close but no cigar. thats when i told them there product sucked and i would be sure to tell everyone i knew. what really got me was when they gave me the web site for ad to promo there product, that was halarious. the next time i want to waste $150, theyll be the first one i call. until then i plan on keeping my promise. by the way i like to use windows washer for my hdd then reformatt with xp pro then use windows washer again.

blcpearl , you can use x copy to burn bambi BUT you will have to have AnyDVD running in the background ,theres newer protection on the movie that x copy cant do by its self. or you can use CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD (which would be your best choice) both programs have a 21 day free trial and there a specail this month for afterdawn users ,heres the link

Ok this thread I started on my problem is deviating into backing up something else. Now if I update to the new Xcopy Platuinum RF and use Any DVD what would I now use for a ripper. Do I need one and what are the procedures? I am now trying to back up Bambi 2 with my 4038 XCopy Platinum and the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD. If this does not work I will update to ??? and try that. I just do not know what steps are required in any of the new process. This is just not an Xcopy question. The question is what is the best and easiest way to back up DVD's now? Would a product curently on the market compliment Xcopy, is there something better?
cheers
