DVD Player will not recognize the SVCD

Creating a CD slideshow- Ext/Mpeg2/Segment/SVCD- using Nero 7, works well on my Pentium IV with Media Player. My Sony CD/DVD player will not run, despite features including SVCD. Any clues why ?

Only thing I can say is its a sony. They have been known to be finicky with burned disks. My friend has one that will not play anything on 80 min cd but will play on 74 min cd if he can find them. For whatever reason, thats the way his is.
