ok so ive been burning dvd's for some time now, altho im a newb by posting standards i have experience in burning. so whats goin on is this. ive been burning on my comp just fine been watching just fine and alls well that ends well. BUT... when my girl friends father (Soon to be in-law) watches one of my movies on his home media player\burner (the kind u can burn off of tv) it wont play. it will play in every room in the house except that one. and just now i tried to pull the video_ts file out of fantastic 4 to make a copy for a family member it gets to VTS_08_03 it fails and then wont load properly without fatal error crap. any ideas if its my media, his player or both, i know its not the program i use to burn w/ on my computer becuz he uses the same program on his computer and has no trouble at all. there are more variables that may or may not need to be discussed but i figure this is a good starting point w/out rambling. any ideas or suggestions?

sorry, thats actually not what i ment, i was trying to take a copy of fantastic 4, that ive alrdy decrypted and burnt, copy the video_ts out of that so that i could make a quick copy, as far as i know its almost impossible to decrypt and shrink a burnt copy, so i appologize for sounding illegal its actually from what i know the only way to make a second copy of a movie. but anyways i put my copy of fantastic 4 into the computer and when extracting the video_ts (from the burnt copy) it gets to VTS_08_3 and wont work. but thats not persay my problem i can get around that by just taking the original copy of fan.4 and decrypting ect ect i was just making a short cut for myself. my problem is the playback on the dvd player\burner on the home media system.

What type of media are you using dvd + or dvd - youmust use the proper type or it will not work in the home media player

It's most likely just an incompatibility issue. What media are you using and what type of player is it? If you're using a +R media, bookset it to Rom. If it's a cheap player, and you already have it set to Rom, then it's just the player (hence the reason why it works everywhere else but there).

im currently using ridata and he is using memorex now my player as well as the player in the bedroom AND the playstation all play my media just fine as well as his media. so they are both also +R media and im not sure how to bookset his player. and does anyone wanna comment on the fact that even tho my comp and his are running the same decrypter prog and same shrink prog and yadda yadda and i can not take a burnt copy of my fan.4 and make a copy of it?
