Okay i know nothing about online what is the difference between xbox silver and Gold, and does it all cost the same? thanks for replies

xbox live silver does not cost anyting, but i do not know what you get for it.

With silver you can go on the xbox 360 marketplace (same with gold) and pay to download stuff or get some free trailers and such. With gold you can actually play xbox 360 live. Without gold you can only talk to friends not play with them. Go for gold, that is if you want to play live with your friends.

Just my 2 cents but I'm using the trial gold package now and would never pay for what I'm getting. Everytime I try to join a game I get kicked because the server is always full. i spend more time trying to get in then I do playing! Then, when you do finally get in, about half of tose games are poor connections and glitchy not at all worth $59. Seems to me like MS is killing themselves on this one as the Live network is in my opinion a huge selling point of the machine. In short try the free 30 day trial before you buy. (I must admit that the only game I use Live for is COD2 so maybe it's better with other games but since this is one of the most popular you'd think that it would be a showcase example.)

dude thats b/c non of the games out now havve used the xbox live properly, i know this b/c i have seen it used properly before in many games that have been given enough time, all i say is wait for ghost recon 3 then you will se how good live is.

thanks for your all your replies, you guys always got good answers, another question i'm going to get a harddrive, and right now i got the xboxlive gold for a month, what i need to know obviously i needa harddrive for demos but if i use silver after this month will i be able to play demos still for free, because i hate to go outand buy harddrive right now because money is tight but with the silver will i able to download demosfor free thanks for replies

Im not exactly sure. Try calling Microsoft at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX. They should be helpful (they always are for me). Good Luck!
