Getting an .avi onto DVD

I have the Nero 6 SE and would like to take an avi file off my pc and put it on a DVD. I tried using Nero Vision and it seamed like it was the right app for the job but it was going to take over 4 hours to ?recode? a 700 mb file. Is this correct? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There's other choices, but none as easy as NVE... 4 hours? You might have a slow machine...

Make sure that when you are burning, dont multitask and turn off all unnecessary programs, including spyware.
You may also check that your DMA is not in PIO mode. Heres a guide
