SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, I CAN"T FIGURE OUT AZUREUS FOR THE LIFE OF ME!!
I have two computers in my network.
The second computer has always been running Azureus and has always been working fine until Azureus was installed on the main computer.
Now all of a sudden Azureus works on the main computer and not the second computer. Weird, eh!
Everytime I connect to Azureus on the second computer, I get the dreaded "firewalled" with the red face beside it with the number of users on the network with a green smiley face.
I have done everything and anything on the second computer to make azureus work, but it won't. I still get the red angry faces.
I've created a static IP...
Forwarded ports 6881-6885 on the router and in Microsoft's Firewall
All the ports test ok when I run the nat test...
Enabled Upnp on router and azureus...
Everything else you can think of.
I do however get this error in my UPNP log
TCP Tracker Port (TCP/6969) enabled = false
TCP SSL Tracker Port (TCP/7000) enabled = false
UDP Tracker Port (UDP/6969) enabled = false
And yet nothing seems to work on the second computer.
It used to work before azureus was installed on the main computer, but after it was installed there, it no longer works on the second computer. Can somebody please help me, because I have tried everything in these forums and nothing seems to work? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Are these suggested ports for ur router?. Then ur probably ok from that point. If their for ur firewall(s)/client, u should change to something between 50000-60000, as 6881-6999 are blacklisted by all trackers and get throttled by isp's.
Thanks cbrooks. I appreciate your feedback. However I still get the same error after I randomly pick a port between 50000 and 60000 and I still get the same UPNP messages.
TCP Tracker Port (TCP/6969) enabled = false
TCP SSL Tracker Port (TCP/7000) enabled = false
UDP Tracker Port (UDP/6969) enabled = false
I'm assuming that because these are false that it would be related to my issue.
Should I make the computer that Azureus is working on use a static IP and use the same port exceptions for firewalls on that same computer with the port exceptions used on the computer where it's not working?
That probably didn't make any sense. Basically, do both computers need to be configured so that they both have the same windows firewall port exceptions?
If anyone has any further suggestions your feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Yes

I think so, and it would also be much easier to manage that way.
If u have time I would suggest trying ”Torrent. I used to use Azureus but I got sick of those stupid msgs, b/c no matter what settings u have ur always going to get msgs, b/c its Java based and very sensitive.
Here is the link to ”Torrent home page, it might fix ur problem:
Also, have u been to portforward.com to see if ur router is listed w/ suggested ports to use?. If not u really should, as ur router is most of ur probs.
Thank you soo very much cbrooks!!! I decided to take your advice and install utorrent and it is amazing to report that all of my firewall/nat/port forwarding errors that I had with Azureus have all magically disappeared.
This is great and i didn't have to reset my router settings or anything. I am quite shocked and pleasantly surprised.
